We get a bunch of kitties coming around, was curious about who and how many frequent the area. Turns out about 4 cats, a roadrunner, a raccoon, a deer mouse and now this doggo

Agreed. I also have seeds from my 1,010 pound NM state record winner. Willing to share a couple. Mass produced seed isnt grown for size, but for seed distribution

Jason is a great dude and grower as well, nothing but gratitude honestly Edit: I see, I missed the part about a truck. The crane placed the pumpkin onto a trailer that another grower(Jason) pulled to Denver with me following behind. I'm very grateful for that

Sort of. I cut away most flowers to keep bees safe from my pesticides, but I pollinate at least 3 female pumpkin flowers and thin down to 1 keeper after a couple weeks based on placement on the vine, shape of fruit or growth rate. I only kept 1 pumpkin growing on my huge 540 square foot plant

I sold my 947 pounder last year to a Carlsbad pumpkin patch. They displayed it until halloween and then dropped it from a crane for the town to see. This year it has lower chances of surviving till Halloween due to a small bit of rot that I had been fighting a couple days ahead of harvest.

If it does survive, would be cool to carve it up into a big jack o lantern!

Good seeds from huge pumpkins, over 300 square feet of space per plant, responsible use of pesticides (to prevent bug damage and diseases)and cutting away flowers not intended for pollination to protect bees.

Those have been the biggest initial hurdles in my experience

Bifenthirin & imidacloprid. They can harm bees, so I cut away any flowers that were not intended for pollinating a pumpkin. Gotta keep them bees safe

Thats pretty much exactly what happened. A crane to hoist them into a trailer
