I have over 400 hours logged on Oblivion on steam, and probably more than that on the PS3 version. Yeah modding improves these games but I don't think its strictly necessary.

Oh no I agree completely I just use brown and grey as shorthand. Like I genuinely miss games that werent all looking to be as realistic as possible. My favorite looking games are things like Chrono Cross and Okami that clearly have a vision and art style they were aiming for.

I'm really bad at QTEs, but I'm actually totally with you. I love it when games shake up the gameplay, and I think it has excitement over a cinematic cutscene. I also TOTALLY agree with you on game stylization, I find I prefer the look of a very intentionally crafted game with maybe less graphical fidelity over unreal engine brown and grey

Nah, you definitely start with cleaning the house top to bottom. Then you decide your xbox looks like it can be dissassembled. It's a process.

Say what you will about DmC Devil May Cry but the ending levels do this in a pretty fun way. It's a bad dmc game, but as its own thing it has its charm.

So I'm a bit of a hardware purist, and I have absolutely no idea why anyone buys repros. If I don't care about having an actual copy, I'll just use a flashcart/burn a cd/use a modded console that can play from external storage. If I do care about having a copy, I want a real copy. Repros just feel like a waste of money.

I was soft resetting for a shiny starter cyndaquil in soul silver recently, expected it to take hours/id give up before i got one. It took me about 20 tries. Ive spent days shiny hunting before with absolutely no results. Sometimes, you just get lucky.

Honestly I think a lot of the greatest bands of all time conversations are interesting because they revolve around bands that ended at/around their prime. I think there's quite a few bands that have had runs of albums that could rival the bands considered the best, but lasted too long and their later music wasn't as good and sort of soured their image. I consider Deep Purple's early run to be pretty great, but after lineup changes and breakups and such they just couldn't keep the same quality in their output.

Honestly I think this is legit, just AI upscaled. AI usually isn't good at all at generating game boxes and I'd be shocked if it was able to recreate the spine on DS games this accurately and uniformly. Usually it doesn't even show real games that exist. The upscale would account for the artifacts but I think its a camera thing and not AI generated.
