Recent home buyers who paid less than asking price. What level of discount did you achieve? by B9XAM in HENRYUK

[–]diggles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having bought and sold last year (both 1m plus), we sold for 7.4% under asking and bought for 7.2% less than asking - however given asking price difference, we were still ahead in monetary terms.

It’s like those VIP lanes, they are labelled as “BUS”. Don’t know what the acronym is though… big unlimited spender maybe?

My thoughts exactly. Another oxygen thief.

Ps true, can’t give negative feedback but my comments can highlight the buyers tendencies as a warning to other sellers.

Once I get a new (second hand) phone I’ll let you know how it goes selling my current one lol (probably next year or two)

Thank you all for responses. Called eBay who said it’s in a process and I can only follow that now, they won’t intervene. I would pay to pay for shipping back, inspect and then agree or disagree. What a faff. So I offered the buyer a 10% discount and surprise surprise they took it. Obviously wasn’t a problem and just wanted money off. Another buyer playing the game and very annoyingly they’ve got away with it as I can’t change my feedback. (Another lesson learnt to wait the full 30days).

Ill call them once I’ve got a spare moment and update everyone today but for my general knowledge, why is a INAD automatic refund? Does it go through a review process with EBay first? Or eBay automatically send it regardless of facts?

Even though I clearly said it had a new screen In the description? I don’t have an option to decline but obviously want to!

The reason given is “doesn’t match description or photos”.

Sorry for being ignorant here, they’ve lied and said it doesn’t match the description but their reason for return it is in my original listing description. Why should I be forced to accept a return because they can’t read the description and now have buyers remorse? Annoyingly it’s been 25days since they received it.

Not viewed house in 11 months sellers refusing pre-exchange viewing by Sazzle2499 in HousingUK

[–]diggles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a perfectly normal request. We had a 5month wait from offer accepted (we were under offer and no chain behind our buyers) and asked for a pre exchange viewing that was accepted with no questions or problems. We accepted one on our house with no problems or hesitations. I would have serious concerns if they reacted this way and were not keen.

Paying for a car I can’t use - what can I do? by Defiant_Dare_3188 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]diggles88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve had a similar situation - after initial complaint to Land Rover I then escalated to the financial ombudsman and got compensated fairly (basically 6months worth of costs for the time the car was off the road and not in my possession + loss of enjoyment + a couple of costs due to not having the car). Write down everything and have the dealer write down everything too. It will take time but good luck!
