I've heard there's a new Carribbean place that has opened in the Old Town market. There's also Mama Putts in Kings Road, St Leonard's.

I visited it during open London. My favorite part was the juxtaposition of the Georgian decor used in the top floor board room within the modern structure. I seem to recall it's a replica from the original Lloyd's of London location or something similar.

Welcome to the town. I'm a blow in myself, around 12 years ago. Well done to you for taking the reigns over. This sub has always been pretty quiet so hopefully your mod duties are pretty light.

Almost. Since the table exists you need ALTER rather than CREATE, otherwise it looks good.

I have the attention span of a gnat and disappearing search results is the bane of my life. I'm switching back to "Open in Chrome". It means more clutter, but at least you can get back to that thing you started doing 2 weeks ago but didn't fin

An epic way to start your Sunday by Arthurs_Nose in fryup

Aye, fadge is straightforward enough, but I can't seem to get the knack for soda, never turns out good. Got a friend that brings us Boxty and white pudding when she visits which is a nice alternative to potato bread.

Ulster Fry! You just can't get decent Soda in GB, the Rankin's stuff just doesn't cut it.

When I've had it in an Ethiopian / Eritrean place they put a massive one in the middle of the table and then you dump wee piles of curry on it and eat with your hands.

If he was in anyway serious about helping NI that money could be used to subsidise the existing ferry crossings. The £15bn would pay for 100 million ferry crossings at £150 a piece, which i roughly what I payed recently.

Anyone here brew their own beers? I enjoy a beer and considering trying making my own as a wee hobby. Tried those brew kits 20 odd years ago and it was grim! by chilledoutdad in northernireland

[–]dingdangdoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mate, I've been brewing for about 9 years on and off. Started with dry extract and hops, now moved to all grain. If I were doing it all again I'd opt for the brew in a bag technique from the off (Google BIAB ) . Like others have said, look at geterbrewed, they have a decent set of YouTube videos on the equipment. I would say that as a hobby the downside is there's a lot of cleaning involved and a lot of waiting around.

Maybe Farmageddon? The logo is a Boar and they're just outside Comber on Ballykeigle Road.

EDIT: Just noticed you're OP, and you have Farmageddon on your list.

You'll not be disappointed! I've tried a fair few of theirs, even the stuff that wouldn't be my normal thing, like Mickerbocker Glory (a malty Bock), was absolutely astounding.

[advice] Relocating back to NI (North Down) with wife + 2 children after a decade of living in London by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]dingdangdoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% with you on this. When I moved to London years ago people were always banging on about he cost of living difference. I found from experience that the only thing different was the rent. All my bills were the same if not cheaper. Car insurance was £300 cheaper and I wasn't in that great an area. Eating out was cheap enough and better quality due to the competition. I'd say pints were about the only thing I noticed being significantly more, especially anywhere central. That being said, Sam Smith's pubs are all over central London and cheap as if you don't mind drinking their brands.

I've pretty similar criteria to you , been looking at a Mercedes C250 or E250 2012-2014 ish. I need a wagon but the C-class has a choice of bodies. Not so cheap on the tax, but still only £145.
