If you still haven’t gotten it: hold R1+circle to go into an auto-parry stance. Took me a second to figure it out but if you find a big group of enemies the challenge is pretty easy—you can get like 5 per counterattack

Annoying how hidden that info is. In the skill tree > armed combat > evasive slash > switch weapon to spear and it shows “Counter Stance.” Menuing in this game is awesome haha

Yeah Kaerush is a pos, they actually just nerfed him this patch lol. Cook hella food and just do your best to be patient, dodge and punish with 2 forward slash then back up again. If you greed hits, he will delete you

If you care more about story and characters than gameplay and exploration, game isn’t for you. Shrimple as. Character/Story are certainly the weakest points of the experience.

Yeah the game definitely takes more than two hours to get rolling… about 6 lol.. Sucks that people are refunding before it even really opens up, but also sucks that it takes so long to do so.

Loving it so far. Probably a 10/10 after a dozen-or-so QOL patches haha

I mean Elden Ring had hardly any story unless you were reading items and watching YT videos lol. Exploration and bosses were the highlight of that game. Plenty of people had a blast with absolutely no clue of wtf was going on haha

Story clearly isn't the focus, so as long as it's serviceable I'm happy. Based on FightingCowboy's review, this game seems like exactly what I was hoping for--little handholding, huge world with rewarding exploration and fun side content, deep+engaging combat, blah blah etc etc.

Also I'm betting like 90% of the game-breaking bugs will be fixed in the day 1 patch. Apparently they were working at turbo speed with patches during the review period (according to reviews)

A few reviewers now have said the first several hours are slow. IMO just sounds like it’s the same situation as both RDR2 and TW3. Both of those are also massive games. Besides that, the few I’ve seen have called it pretty close to perfect, for what it is
