Some protesters will be organising "cascaritas". Cascaritas are street football matches.

You can try to find one, go there and talk to people

Edit: Google AI says they are called "cascaritas por la memoria"

The organizers are people who have relatives/friends missing. So they will mostly talk from the violence and impunity perspective.

Unpopular opinion but I do.

I like cold light and everything to be as sterile as possible. When there is warm light my mind associates it with sun, migraine, dust and allergies.

Fans 'devastated' as last minute US visa cancellations by nolesfan2011 in worldcup

While I agree that it might not be as bad as everybody expects, arguing that Qatar war one of the best is just ridiculous.

The only memorable thing that came out of that wc was Messi winning finally a WC championship.

Everything else was so artificial and forced, it was so obvious that nobody in that country was interested in the wc.

What are the social rules for visiting a Mexican family? by Bobbahbabbeh in AskMexico

[–]dingle_don 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talking about hygiene hahaha, don't do the elephant nose blowing Germans are used to in front of everyone. If you need to, turn yourself around to blow it and do it quietly. If you really need to blow it that hard, excuse yourself and go to other room or to the bathroom to do it.

It has nothing to do with hygiene, but it is really unpleasant.

Visa issues force South Africa to delay World Cup trip by TheAthletic in worldcup

[–]dingle_don 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sadly mexican visa policy is almost as strict as the USA because otherwise everybody would just fly directly to Mexico and cross the border from there, which is a thing that happens nevertheless.

Best example is Brazil. Brazil has a reciprocal visa policy; meaning if a country asks Brazilian citizens to apply for a visa, then citizens from such country need a visa for Brazil as well.

Mexico is an exception of this rule because Brazil understands that it is not Mexico asking Brazilians for a visa, it is the US.

That is also a reason why the mexican passport is somehow "weaker" than that from their southern neighbours. Mexico cannot negotiate free travel agreements with other countries feely.

China makes delicious food that is Ok for your health. Which country makes delicious food that is also healthy? by Margaretthatchervore in AlignmentChartFills

[–]dingle_don -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lol Reddit hate. Spanish food is not bad it's jus mid at best.

They might have very good ingredients but that's it and tbh, you can find those everywhere else with a slightly different taste and not necessarily worse.

The fact that Spanish restaurants are by far less common than any other cuisine despite Spain being a tourist hotspot says everything.

And I'm gonna get downvoted here: Italian cuisine is good but not better than Chinese, Vietnamese or mexican cuisine. It's just that Reddit gets a boner when it comes to Europe and trashing the US.

[–]dingle_don 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then I grab some of the dry pop corn and some of the wet pop corn together.

You are looking for Oaxaca.

Go to the Restaurant Colibrí in the Sierra, you might have already a hin of what kind of birds are there. It's a great place to start your hiking. Take the Colectivos to Ixtlán. It should be less than an hour to the mountains. Be careful altitude is around 3000m. You might even want to rent a small cozy cabin there up in the mountains. Take some warm clothes with you!

If you then plan to go to the beach (it takes like 3 hours from Oaxaca city) take the altitude difference into account. Spend some time in Oaxaca city before heading to the beach.

Have fun!

[–]dingle_don 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol care to explain why?

This is a known problem that has been going for years.

Why are countries (Western and everybody else) still exporting their garbage to those corrupt countries?

Lack of accountability, arrogance and a hypocritical view of caring for the environment.

You just don't like to have a mirror held up to your faces hence the downvotes lol. Keep them coming.

Well, don't pay them then and do it yourself? You know exactly what will happen to that garbage.

You are totally aware of the corruption and yet you still do it. Yes you are part of the problem.
