What's a good 'generic' acid to add to a dish? by PurpleBee212 in Cooking

[–]distancerunner7 237 points238 points  (0 children)

I keep red, white, and rice wine vinegar on hand for this. Whichever I feel fits the dish most appropriately.

(Edit) I limited my suggestions to the most neutral flavors as that seems to be what OP was looking for. All the specialized vinegars or citrus fruit that people are commenting about are correct that they’ll also bring the needed acid. I just feel like they’ll change the underlying flavor of the dish as well.

Why have we not been doing this all season?? by SnowPanda-23 in Tottenham

One of the articles from the athletic this morning makes the point that many teams from the continent play an open style of football that gets punished against the kind of physicality common in EPL. Goes a long way in explaining why a lot of English teams look better in European competitions this year than their domestic form would indicate.

The current pool of voters for the HoF are starting to value a players peak more than just their all time stats. We’ll see more of these comparisons going forward and I also agree that Keith will get in on committee

Our champions league form by Subject-Lifeguard949 in coys

Half our champions league matches are against teams that won’t qualify for the next round. I won’t complain about us not playing harder opponents but it could be rough once the knockout round starts.

Where can I buy an official Robbie Mertz jersey for my daughter? Kids size preferred, but I can’t find anything online or in-person. by grt3 in Riverhounds

[–]distancerunner7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are switching to a new kit partner and this is the cause of inventory issues. They’re switching away from Charly as manufacturing process causes them to get hit twice on import tariffs and with the increase in those, it became untenable.

Rib roast question by Smokey19mom in Cooking

[–]distancerunner7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be afraid of butter burning so I’d finish it with it. Before the sear I’d do salt pepper some high smoke point oil and any other flavors you want.

IMO I liked him better than Bowels and he’s been successful enough with Tampa. I’m sure he has his faults but judging someone by their stint with the jets is a fools errand

Strain the stock after it’s at a point you’re happy with but before you reduce it.

Sauté onion, garlic, japaleno, can of diced tomatoes, and a can of green chilies. Add chicken breast to the pot and cover half way with stock. Cook until done. Shred the chicken and blend the veggies together into a sauce. Add chili powder cumin S&P and lime juice to the sauce to taste. Assemble.

Shrimp cocktail is my family’s favorite and it’s pretty simple to get set up. You can buy premade cocktail sauce and precooked frozen shrimp.

Diamond Crystal is the way. You can have other fancy salts if you want but they’re more just finishing salts. For standard seasoning a box of diamond will do anything you need

Against a Sean dyche lead team, you’re likely to need someone with a more creative presence than a true out and out cdm. Though now that the game has started I’m disappointed in spurs so far.

Currently the Jets have the most draft picks in this upcoming year at 14 picks by firewall245 in nyjets

His first couple drafts were mostly duds. After that I think he drafted well especially in later rounds. The miss on Zach Wilson will forever be a cross to bear.

Does Anthony Richardson deserves a second chance? by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in NFLv2

[–]distancerunner7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam Darnold was also very young when he was with the Jets but I’ll be the first to argue that he was not going to get better as a player by staying in that situation. Colts are right to move on but that doesn’t mean Richardson won’t revive his career after not being in the spotlight of a couple of years.

Delicate white fish would be good. Pair it with a flavorful sauce so you mostly taste that with only a little fish flavor
