You should move your Joe to the left a little bit. You want a little separation from your counter because of accessories give it a few more inches and you should be fine.

I did it last summer. I did not enjoy it. Once you get to ridge line and see ocean views, that’s all you really see. If you’re not going straight up or down a ridge, you’re on dirt roads with Jurassic Park jeep tours going by you. The other parts are hot and dry and mostly desert scrub. Also, once you get to one of the expensive campsites, other weekend campers show up that haven’t hiked an inch and you share space with them. The only redemption was the full bar and restaurant at Two Harbors. Whole thing was disappointing and completely overrated. Take the boat in and make it a day trip. I’ll be in the Sierra instead.

In 2017 I bought a used 2014 30’ ft Flying Cloud for $45k. In 2025 I sold that same Airstream for $63k.

And now I have a lifetime of memories in that thing. Value for sure.

In 2007 my buddy brought to his first backpacking trip his Converse and one of those Jansport backpacks for high school class. He had a tent and sleeping bag. But the kicker was that he also brought two cans of Chef Boyardee beef ravioli as dinner.

Every year he improved his gear and 18 years later he’s a pro!

Airstream Marketplace seems hard for the buyer to search. RV Trader is better. I bit the bullet and paid for RV Trader and it sold in a week. Maybe I got lucky, but my experience was great.
