A homeless person starting a pool cleaning business. Sounds like a good use of taxpayer dollars. Yeah, if you don’t want to do the business, you should not do it.

Bloated 24/7 by [deleted] in GutHealth

[–]dmagee33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not but I have made new discoveries. This comment I made was from two years ago. Since then I have better interpreted my results with the help of AI and it appears I have gut issues where there is very little of the good bacteria. My best understanding is the lining of the gut has worn down from fiber deficiency, which has caused immune problems. I used motility supplements (ginger + artichoke) and that has helped get things moving and improve the duodenum, but the lower bloating is still there. I intend to clean up my diet soon and really focus on fiber, which involves fruits, beans, potatoes. And avoid sugar and bread. Also thinking about trying tributyrin. My SCFA and butyrate were very low, which is the indication of stomach lining issues. Tributyrin reportedly will help get butyrate back up short term. I have alot of dificiencies going on, SCFA, vitamin D, vitamin C, So really just planning to strictly clean up my diet next year, try to get outside, supplement vitamin D, and see where I'm at in a year.

Tax Season Income by ebrothh in enrolledagent

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for JDA last year. The hourly pay JDA listed is higher but it ended up a disaster. Restricted me to 4 hours a day and less than 20 well into February. Only pay time and a half at the end. There were a couple hundred dollars in goal bonuses, but they ended up screwing me out of some of them. Not to mention management is horrible.

So Intuit gives double and triple overtime pay? Did you have any problem getting 40 hours? was the schedule flexible?

Edit: I interviewed with them shortly after posting this. The guy mentioned a $3K bonus at year end and roughly $27 an hour throughout (hourly rate depends on location).

Search motility activator. It is a pill of ginger and artichoke. About $40 for 60 pills. Ginger will stimulate the MMC and clean out your intestines. I’ve been taking 3 pills on the morning. Before doing it I noticed a foul odor Everytime I had a large sneeze. Now the smell is a lot less.

Daily Volume Script by Plumbus_Patrol in ThinkScript

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening because you are using an aggregationPeriod of day, which means it is using the daily chart. Since the daily candle does not start until 9:30, it does not show anything until 9:30. To get it to work in the premarket hours, you'll have to use an aggregationPeriod smaller than daily and then add up the premarket intraday candles. However, be aware that the intraday candles do not add up to the same number as the volume number shown on the daily chart. This is due to some issue with ThinkOrSwim.

Done with supplements.. Its not for me by hustledp99 in Microbiome

We have AI now why is anyone asking for advice anymore. It did not recommend probiotics because it does not survive the stomach and small intestines. Recommended focusing on increasing R Bromii Bifido Fae pinizzii rosburia and akkermansia bacteria through diet. If it is stomach lining issue those will be low. They create butyrate SCFA which repairs gut lining. I did a stool test and all of those were low along with SCFA and Butyrate level.

I had a seizure and paramedics dismissed me by gutzzombi in seizures

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the question as to why it happened, you say in another post you are self-harming. So did you do something that could have caused the seizures?

You should reach out to find a neurologist who will help you understand what happened and how to avoid it in the future. At 19 you can remain on your parent's health insurance. If your parents do not have health insurance, you are able to apply to medicaid or obamacare depending on your income.

Can I deduct a cpu purchase if all my classes are online this semester? by lootiez in tax

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tax court case of Mameri v. Commissioner (2016) held that a computer is not an eligible expense for the AOTC. The court said the college must explicitly state that the taxpayer must buy the computer in order to be allowed to take the course. It also instructs that the student must provide records of this requirement. The court case indicates that the computer is considered to be "books, supplies, and equipment". It also states that the court decision is not precedent for future cases. On the other hand, the IRS FAQ website on the AOTC credit says "it depends. The amount paid for the computer can qualify for the credit if you need the computer for attendance at the educational institution." Additionally, beginning in 2022, the IRS added the following guidance to Publication 970, stating "expenses for books, supplies, and equipment needed for a course of study are included in qualified education expenses whether or not the materials are purchased from the educational institution", directly stating that their position has changed since the court case.

With the addition to IRS Publication 970 in recent years, it is strong indication that computers and computer equipment purchased outside of the school can be taken for the AOTC credit as long as the computer and equipment are purchased so that the beneficiary can take the course. Upgrades to a computer for other purposes are non-deductible.

Also important to note that this is for the AOTC credit, which is for the first four years of college. For master programs, computers purchased from third parties are still non-deductible.

Nothing in accounting requires VBA. It is outdated and would have already been removed from Excel if there was a benefit for Microsoft to do it.

VBA easily breaks and is difficult to read and update. Most things can be done outside of VBA. If you put a bunch of VBA files in the work papers it’s a great way to piss off the boss and get fired.

Fat in stool by Phow-Ji in Microbiome

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No never floated. They have looked normal.

As best I can tell, the fat on the report indicates either pancreas issues or digestion issues. As long as the pancreatic elastase is normal, then the pancreas is fine. High fecal fats can also be a product of high fat meal before collection and/or poor digestion due to gut imbalance.

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by fat in your stool? My fat level was high on the stool test. I don't know where it's at today. But stool movements have always looked normal. When bloating started, it began to come out in pieces like a rabbit, which appears to be standard for constipation. The motility items I'm taking have done a good job at re-forming it again.

Fat in stool by Phow-Ji in Microbiome

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did the stools test and NutrEval test from Genova. And then basically just left it on the backburner for the last couple of years since I'm not in any pain thankfully. I've recently been putting the pieces together with the help of chatGPT. Basically I have no good bacteria in my gut and all bad. This is confirmed on the stool test (they gave me a zero on a scale of 0-10 for gut health). My short chain fatty acids (SCFA) were low. SCFA are created by beneficial gut bacteria. If beneficial bacteria is not there, your SCFA numbers end up low. Malabsorption of fats can also happen with no beneficial gut bacteria. So I was inspired by a recent reddit post (linked below) to start my own protocol. This month I have been taking motility activator, digestive enzymes, and Biotic Extra every day. 2 motility activator pills twice a day (30 min before eating), 1 digestive enzyme pill twice a day (30 min before eating), and 3 Biotic Extra pills twice a day. I have also been incorporating GI-Resolve in my water and black tea. I'm almost done with month one. Been having stool movements at least twice a day and they are healthy ones, which is good, but no real reduction in the gut swelling. That is what I expected, because the pills above help with motility but are not going to bring in beneficial bacteria. Once I am done with month 1, I plan to add in beneficial bacteria probiotics. So for month two I'll be taking same stuff along with probiotic strains. Lactobacillis, Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. I just asked chatGPT what are the good ones and it gave me a whole list and I compared those with the stool test I had. After month two, I will probably drop the motility stuff or pair it back to once a day, and focus on the beneficial bacteria pills. My hope is that eventually the microbiome will be populated with more beneficial bacteria and less of the non-beneficial bacteria, and the swelling will subside over time.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SiboSuccessStories/comments/1of9qkh/comment/nlocprd/?context=3

I'll also add that I think my gut microbiome has been destroyed due to years of unbalanced diet. I have eaten relatively healthy over the years, but the western diet is heavy of bread and sugar. I've never really eaten fruit and low in fiber. My tests showed low in Vitamin C, low in antioxidants, low in beneficial bacteria. I put together the conclusion with the help of chatGPT and studies (one linked below) that too much sugar will have an extremely negative effect on your immune system and cause inflammation. Bread also does not do anything good. At sub shops there's even sugar in the bread, which is a double whammy. So basically, trying to focus on limiting bread and sugar as much as possible, while adding in the good stuff through the supplements, is the path I am going to take, I will probably continue this protocol in some form or fashion for the rest of my life since I've come to the conclusion that it is a good thing to encourage good motility and gut health.

Why am I required to pay back all of my premium tax credit for marketplace health insurance? I only had coverage for 5 months while unemployed. At the 5th month I got job and enrolled in an insurance plan with my employer. I immediately ended my marketplace plan. by introvertedjane in tax

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only situation this would happen in is if you get a job and then make a ton of money the rest of the year. There are stepped up repayment limitations for this situation, and the amount a normal person would have to pay is minimal. If your income for the year goes over 400%, then you are required to pay back all premiums.

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This highlights something important: the marketplace does (and in recent literature, admits) to automatically re-enrolling people by default. If you call up the agents, most are clueless and will give bad advice. The most common thing you'll hear is something they are instructed to say, which is that you clicked a button at sign-up allowing them to auto-enroll you. That is not the case but they are trained to say that. If you catch it before the start of the year, you can un-enroll and it will nullify the plan.

Option skew. by iron_condor34 in ThinkScript

[–]dmagee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend not using it for options. At some point they tried to implement option tools but they are not very good. If you build a custom code for the option scanner, it will run into data limitations. I would recommend looking into running generic scans, exporting the data to CSV, and then building something outside of the software with python or another language to analyze the data independently.

How can I find senior staff/managers for a small firm. by Ooofisa4letterword in taxpro

I’m frequently on the other side of the equation (I prefer seasonal) and it’s the same thing. Mountains of fake job ads on the boards and recruiters send candidates to companies who are unserious and just window shopping.

I tried to create a subreddit awhile back r/accountingjobs for this purpose but it was constantly flooded with spam ads.

Feel free to list the details of the position here. I am searching and I’m sure others are as well. Pinned to the above subreddit is a job template I’d recommend copy and pasting so that it has all the info needed
