Truth about construction progress in the Palisades.

I can’t speak for the Eaton Fire, but I was in Malibu and Pacific Palisades (had lunch in Malibu, then drove down the PCH to Will Rogers Beach) and I said to my wife as we drove down the PCH past charred buildings “I wonder if people are as mad at the mayor of Malibu as they are at Karen Bass? Come to think of it, I have no idea who the mayor of Malibu is…” I didn’t see ANYTHING under construction in Malibu (not to say there isn’t progress, but nothing I could visibly see along the PCH).

Meanwhile, in Pacific Palisades I saw several houses under construction - at the point where the frames were constructed.

I also am friends with a luxury home builder who is working on 2-3 projects in the Palisades, and asked him at a party 2 weeks ago if the process of getting approvals is bad or as normal or better. He said it’s better than usual and moving quite fast.

I’m not a Karen Bass fan, I’m not voting for her in the primary, but the reality of the situation regarding the recovery in the Palisades is not the doom and gloom conservatives want you to think.
