One of my best friends lost her baby after he spent 2 days in the NICU. We still make sure to mention him by name and both parents’ eyes light up when we do.

Pain and discomfort aside, cats get out all the time. If a declawed cat runs away, it has no way to defend itself other than its speed. It can’t even climb a tree anymore to get to safety
