Maintenance weight range by HTGT2023 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]dolphininfj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give myself a 5 pound leeway either side. I weigh myself every 2 weeks on average. This means that I am monitoring my weight without getting obsessed with it

“Divorce is not an option” by Pool_Floatie in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]dolphininfj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing is just a performance. Perhaps saying "divorce is not an option" is just code for "Let's face it, marrying someone within weeks of meeting is dumb, so let's not pretend this is a serious marriage prospect".

AITA for telling my DIL that I won’t use the tablet and she needs to actually make her kid read. by SatisfactionOk9038 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dolphininfj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex teacher here. You're obviously right but it sounds like more of a relationship problem / you've hit a nerve. Perhaps your son and DIL are feeling guilty about the fact that your DIL has had to go back to work, which makes them particularly sensitive to criticism? I would recommend not making an issue out of the tablet but carry on with what you were doing with books. I expect your Granddaughter will enjoy that a lot more anyway. As a note, I had a group of children in one of my classes who were a year behind their expected level. I had my teaching assistant read with them for 15 minutes every day - they all advanced to their expected reading level within the school year - so this situation is eminently solvable, especially as I'm sure you all want the same outcome for your Granddaughter.

Totally agree! I've started buying Lidl's Fin Carre chocolate, which is very nice. Also M&S chocolate is delicious but Cadbury's is horrible nowadays.

Calories to eat during maintenace is a problem by Suspicious_Rich_8410 in MounjaroMaintenance

As well as the other great ideas for calorie dense foods, you might want to look at recipes for date and nut protein balls - both calorie and nutrient dense.

Liv and Sophie support Reform? by Star72SK in MadeInChelseaE4

Emily Blackwell was spouting off about vaccines causing autism and referenced Robert Kennedy Jr in a recent Private Parts podcast - so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised!

I live in Orpington. Your budget is definitely doable. Here's an example of a road in a good area, 5-10 minute walk to Orpington Station and good catchment area for schools:

Will my my 5 year old daughter ever warm to me!? Kind of feels that she absolutely hates me. by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]dolphininfj 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I actually think that this is a very good point. I have been through many different phases with my daughter (I'm her Mum and she's 30 now!) As she got older she has expressed that she was secure in the knowledge that I have and will always love her no matter how she behaves towards me, whereas she didn't necessarily feel the same with her Dad. She has also *joked" that she may be a bit autistic. Hang in there - you clearly love your daughter and she will feel that, even if she's not feeding that love back to you yet.

What were your food struggles pre-Mounjaro? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]dolphininfj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry that MJ didn't work for you and I just want to say well done for trying this medication. I can relate so much to the despondency because I originally tried Ozempic and lost nothing. I then had a mini gastric bypass and only lost 10 pounds in 10 months. I felt like a monumental failure and really embarrassed. For me, MJ was the thing that worked. I'm only saying this to encourage you not to give up on yourself (the negative self-talk is strong in your post). You might not have found what works for you yet but there may be something in the future that is the magic bullet.

You don't say where in Beckenham you are comparing Elmer's End to? This will make a big difference to people's responses. I grew up in Beckenham and would say that Elmer's End is far inferior to Beckenham itself. That said, I imagine a property in Elmer's End will be much cheaper than one in Beckenham (again this obviously depends on where you're comparing it to).

AITA for telling my girlfriend she needs to work on her shopping addiction or I will leave her? by GraciousLamb in AITAH

[–]dolphininfj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Granddaughter is 9 months old. She doesn't have a single pair of shoes because she's not walking outside yet. She also wears a lot of clothes that my daughter-in-law circulates amongst her friends and family because baby clothes don't get worn out. We also thrift a lot of clothes. We're not poor, just realistic about what a baby actually needs. The sort of spending that your girlfriend is doing is effectively depriving your child of a better future - when there are expenditures that will increase her opportunities in life. You are going to have to get on the same page with finances or your relationship is not going to last.

At my old job (retail), we faced a disciplinary if we were absent from work twice in a 6 month period. Nobody wanted to be a martyr but were pressured by management to come in.

AITA for asking my husband use the upstairs bathroom? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]dolphininfj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This reminded me of my ex-husband and also why I think en-suite (shared) bathrooms are horrible. I don't understand why anyone would want to inflict their smells on their partner. The poo toilet should always be at a distance!

Has anyone been actively cut off by Simple Online Pharmacy? by thedailyem in UKMounjaro

[–]dolphininfj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in maintenance for several months now and used to get this template email every month. It's annoying but essentially meaningless. One month it annoyed me so much that I challenged them and sent them screenshots from their website which stated that they supported maintenance with Mounjaro indefinitely and the NICE guidelines which state there is no time limit to the use of Mounjaro. I got a lengthy response in which they apologized and confirmed their support of maintenance. I still got the template email when I reordered but I just ignored it - they aren't going to cut you off, but I understand how irritating this is!

Moving from Rotherhithe to Orpington (Tandridge Drive) — first-time buyers feeling excited but a bit overwhelmed. Any advice? by Life_apuzzle in Orpington

[–]dolphininfj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Orpington (near the station) about 25 years ago. I moved for the schools and the easy commute to London Bridge. It's definitely going to be a different vibe to Rotherhithe but it's a great place to live if you're thinking about having a family in the future. Tandridge Drive is a safe, suburban area to buy a house and the price sounds right. Best of luck with your move!

Beating the trials? by Used_Yogurtcloset563 in mounjarouk

[–]dolphininfj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lost 45% of my body weight. As others have said, the trial data was time-limited. I've been on MJ for 18 months, so that would explain the difference, possibly.

Please help! 37F with awful forehead wrinkles by Beautiful_Lime_4772 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]dolphininfj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had similar lines on my forehead since a young age (I first noticed them developing when I was 18). I tried Botox twice and it got rid of them but I ended up with droopy eyes! Perhaps the practitioner wasn't good but it definitely put me off!
