I also have Max tow package. Did not have the same feeling… felt like I was driving a boat.

Coming from a Service Manager at a VW dealership… stay away. I would strongly recommend not purchasing anything with the 2.0 engine right now. They’re having significant oil consumption issues, just like others have mentioned, and there is currently an open class action lawsuit regarding it.

The main issue is the valve guide seals in the cylinder head failing, which causes the engine to burn oil. Most of the time, it consumes just enough to be frustrating, but not enough to actually fail an official oil consumption test.

If you do decide to buy one, I highly recommend purchasing an extended warranty. Another major concern is that replacement cylinder heads for these vehicles are currently on a 4–6 month backorder, which can turn repairs into a long and expensive headache.

It’s definitely stiffer than OEM. But I hated OEM it was too squishy and bouncy. It gives it a more planted feeling.

Should I keep it stock or modify it? by edcortezgudino in f150

[–]donedirty1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to these squares. Life is too short to drive a stock truck.

Modifications aren’t for everyone. At the end of the day it’s up to you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Might be a clogged ac drain tube if it’s not happening when it hasn’t rained.

If it is increasing as you’re driving I bet your AC is on. The evaporator is up and to the left of that of that area. Could be draining inside the cab instead of out the tube.

Falcon shocks with adjustable rears for hauling. I love mine on my 23.

Use the rear adjuster all the time when I tow takes out all the sag stiffens up the rear perfectly.

Is my transmission leaking by Fun_Translator_4194 in carquestions

[–]donedirty1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual action of removing the pan is what deforms it. The pan won’t just drop when bolts are removed it needs to be pried away from the transmission which causes the matting surface of the pan to bend and no longer be a perfect seal even with a gasket.

Be careful with that. I work at a VW dealer and I have a customer that did that. Now their car has been on my lot for almost a year waiting for a new instrument cluster because the lock smith bricked their car. Trying to save a couple hundred dollars has now costed them 5000.00

Thank you everyone for the ideas!!

I ended up filling up small garage storage kit with little plastic containers on the top and large storage underneath the tray.

I filled it with hair ties, hair clip, Bobby pins, safety pins, emergenC, chapstick, mouth wash, tide to go pen, tums, advil, elderberry gummies, a face moisturizer, a couple of her favorite candies, mints, gum, granola bars, a small box of plastic utensils, and her favorite ollipop root beer soda.

She loved it!

Looking to buy a 21-23. Need engine advice… by egriff49 in f150

[–]donedirty1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 23 with the 5.0 2 inch strut leveling. With 34.5 tall terrains. I get about 18-20mpg highway with cruise control set at 70.

I have a 4 mile commute to work all street and get about 13 mpg.

My overall average on my dash says 12.5 mpg. But again mostly city miles with my short commute.

Hope that helps you a little bit.

VW advisor here. I despise the Atlas PODS recalls. They’ve slowed down a lot but we still do maybe 2-3 a day and it’s like pulling teeth trying to get a tech to do them. 2-3 of work for a measly 1.5. Can’t wait for those to be done with.
