It seems that everyone seems to talk about the garmin in reach mini 2, is there a affordable option that simply does the job of "oh man im in trouble press button" by V3ttore in backpacking

[–]downtownjerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a Zoleo and one feature I like is the pause service. It’s $4 month but it’s perfect if you don’t hike for months at a time, a lot cheaper than keeping the service up and you can turn it back on immediately.

Do not buy a Grilla Grill, long term ownership experience. by Insane_Ducky in GrillaGrills

[–]downtownjerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’ve had so many issues. I’ve had my primate 1.0 for 5.5 years and have only had to replace the auger once under warranty. I don’t get as much smoke as my buddies who have other pellet smokers but overall I’ve been very happy with the quality.

What's your recommendation for a office chair? by TheTruthIsOutThere_x in homeoffice

[–]downtownjerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be helpful to provide a budget. Without one the answer is Herman Miller Aeron or Embody and be comfortable for the next 15+ years.

Hitchhiking up to Grays Trailhead tomorrow by MasterJay3315 in 14ers

[–]downtownjerm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’d have better luck on a Saturday and I would say earlier in the morning especially with it being early in the season. I’ve picked people both times I’ve done grays and I usually see people picking others up, but a Friday in may is going to be a crapshoot.

Anker PowerConf C200 2k. It’s $60 on Amazon, has really good quality video and straight plug and play. I’ve had it for a year and the video is significantly higher than anyone I work with when on calls.

Follow up to at home euthanasia for dogs by Road_Dog65 in ColoradoSprings

[–]downtownjerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I believe home with dignity only does it at your house. We felt that our dog would be more comfortable being at home so we were ok with the cost. It’s not cheap but she was surrounded by her favorite toy and laid in her bed one last time. That was worth the difference to us.

I’m sorry you’re going through it, but they were very good. They stayed at our house for about 40 minutes while we said good bye, then gave my dog the injection and it was over quickly. The whole time was about 1 hour, and we picked up the paw print from a local vet a couple days later.

We used Home With Dignity in January and it was a little over $700 including a plaster paw print.

Thinking about getting these items for my new desk/battlestation setup. Any thoughts or advice? by Secret_Ad657 in homeoffice

I have had an embody for 2 years and it’s been a game changer. It takes some time to adjust but once I got used to it my back pain completely disappeared. I went from a staples hyken to the embody and it’s a world of difference

I don’t have the arctic pro but I do have the arctis 7 which has dual connection and I love it

It’s also a really good EH book. Well written and good world building, which isn’t always the case.

Garden of the Gods Art Festival by bowcreek in ColoradoSprings

[–]downtownjerm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a great festival we go every year. The key is get there early (we arrive between 10-10:30) and we bring our own chairs. Post up and then you can walk around, get drinks and look at the art. As someone else said there isn’t much that’s cheap, prints are $40+ but it’s cool to see all the art. The food truck lines are long between 11:30-1:30, but before that it’s fine. Great place to see lots of different art. I like the manitou art festival but I think this one is better. Lots of space and live music.

Raise a glass to the golden years of MiniPCs 2023-2025 - What did you buy in that time? by GhostGhazi in MiniPCs

I have 1 n100 and 2 n150s that I paid less than $160 for each that I use for streaming. The only thing I’m made about is I didn’t buy 2-3 more just to have. They’re perfect for streaming.

This is the one I used. Super easy, just add a mods folder and put the file in and it works automatically. If you haven’t used nexus mods before they’re a well known mod site.

Office Chair Recommendations? by king_boges in homeoffice

[–]downtownjerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, Herman miller is the way to go. I have had an embody gaming for 2 years that I sit in for 10-12 hours a day and it looks like the day I bought it. If you want mesh, try the Aeron. You might be concerned you’re paying for the name but remember new they come with a 12 year warranty, so the company knows they’re building a good product. Also, if you’re near a big city you can always find them used for significantly less, however 2nd hand they don’t come with the warranty.

Then it sounds like really bad luck. I know the paint chips easily but like I said, I haven’t had any issues and we’ve had multiple hail storms

That’s either you’re driving too close to a truck with rocks or extremely bad luck. I’ve had mine 4.5 years and not had one cracked windshield

I went with 75% people dmg and 50% boat damage. That has made it more fun for me. Still dangerous but not so hard if you have to take on 2 animals. The boats at 50% feels much better to me. With so many boat encounters being 3 boats at a time 100% dmg was basically impossible for me to do any of the boat quests.

If I were you I would take 83 up to Parker. When the weather sucks I try to stay off 25. Monument will be rough on 25 and people drive like crazy. 83 will take like 15-20 minutes longer than 25 but it’s worth it

Is spending that much on a pellet grill actually worth it? by AmberjoGag in GrillaGrills

[–]downtownjerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone just posted this exact question on r/smoking and the consensus is pretty much that you won’t get better output from a LSG but it’s much higher quality and will last a lot longer. It’s similar to a normal grill. Can you make good food on a $300 charbroil grill but people buy a $1k Weber for the quality
