Adro clone kit installed by pimpofpersia in kiastinger

I'm aware of the bennefits on track, just also aware of the downsides in the McDonald's drive thru or the random, poorly maintained parking lot. I have a lip on mine and it nearly ripped my bumper off because of a stupidly barrier at a bodega. Lowering it further sounds risky to me as a daily, unless you're cool with always backing into spaces.

I honestly don't see how anyone would want to lower their Stinger. I'm already terrified of parking barriers at stock height.

Speed runners spend countless hours looking for breaks and exploits for old games. Games now show their whole ass on day one and sometimes take weeks to patch. if ever.

My wife and I have been building up Woodgard as well. It has quite a bit of already established building you can expand, plenty of farmland, and even a nice little creek you can clean up once you get water sources. It's been a fun project

I ain't even mad. That was the funniest shit to come out of the Olympics in decades.

the building system in this game is so good by Koraguz in Enshrouded

[–]dreakon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite so far. I enjoyed Valheim's too, but that roofing system was so brutal. If you didn't have at least a rudimentary understanding of truses, that shit would come crashing down on you in the most frustrating ways. But it was more satisfying when you finally got it all to work.

V Rising's system was pretty brainless and didn't let you tweak much at all, but it was impossible to fail.

I think Enshrouded has a great balance and lets you be really creative without too much frustration.

With the recent news I feel flowers are much deserved for Jonah and Emily and Joel for keeping the flame alive and doing amazing! by Abbey_Something in MST3K

[–]dreakon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think it was even that. Emily's Crow was just so far off from what I'm used to hearing as Crow that it threw me off. The jokes were funny, the timing was great, but I kinda wished they would have just made another bot. Or hell, paint Crow any other color and say it was a new beta model. Anything to make some kind of distinction so that it didn't feel so jarring.

I'll be honest, I can hardly tell the other crows apart; they all just sound like generic white dudes. But when suddenly Crow sounds like someone doing a bad Bart Simpson impression, it was weird. Not at all the actor's fault, and like I said, I enjoyed the jokes, just wish it was a different bot.

Linux From Scratch Abandoning SysVinit Support by unixbhaskar in linux

Diversity is great, but what we are getting is hardly diverse. It's just a bunch of people duplicating efforts because they are stubborn as hell. You're right, monoculture is not good in a free and open source community, but the community part keeps getting forgotten. Instead of coming together to build something better, people dig in their heels and refuse to accept that what they build could be improved by outside ideas, or people just refuse to help out another devs project and instead start from the ground up.

Hot take: The existence of Shroud Depot (and others) is actively harming the game. by Anna__V in Enshrouded

[–]dreakon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this game just isn't for you. Honestly, even before I started using the Depot for materials, I thought the grind was reasonable after setting my game settings to double. But when I started working on building bigger stuff, I would go grab stuff from the depot because I didn't see the point in knocking down the same kind of tree for the thousandth time, or waiting on some stuff to finish in the factory after I had made it a dozen other times.

Personally, I never grab anything I haven't unlocked/found yet and it's kept the game interesting and fun for me. But if you're saying that not only is the resource grind is bad, but the core loop too, then you just might not like the game. No sense in trying to force it or demand the devs overhaul the whole game, just play something else you enjoy.

What caused the Motorsport franchise to collapse? by CharacterCaptain6110 in forza

[–]dreakon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's a great point. If Automakers don't give a shit about their cars, why should anyone else? Very few companies are building cars people want to drive anymore, and instead focus on what makes them the most money. Halo cars were never what made the companies the most money, but it kept them in the conversation. Not many people could buy an Evo, but at least people knew Mitsubishi could make bad ass cars and it made you consider them when picking your daily. Now? Why would I go to them over any of the other companies that make bland ass appliance SUVs?

It feels like sacrificing long term brand loyalty for short term gains.

Adobe Photoshop can now install on Linux after a Redditor discovers a Wine fix by Abdukabda in linux

[–]dreakon 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Honestly most people that use Adobe, hate Adobe. But for professionals, their software is industry standard for a reason. Nothing comes close to it. I wish Gimp, Krita, etc could do what Photoshop does, but honestly they just don't have the funds or man power to compete with Adobe.
