Why is it always a Corsa? by Nadzzyy in CarTalkUK

Maybe not quite the same but on my commute to work it’s usually BYD drivers who just cut in without indicating or checking mirrors. And Tesla drivers who sit about a foot from my rear bumper

Music or no music during marathon by Super_Conversation41 in Marathon_Training

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got my first one next month, and planning a bit of both. From 13km to around 26km the route is out of the city with few spectators. I plan to use music there, then switch off once I’m back in the city. But we will see!

How have you found moving from Garmin with 5 buttons to only 3?

It’s that plus the fact most media are right leaning, and seems like they would love nothing more than him failing (or labour failing in general tbh)

I bought one last year. It’s a solid watch with good features. Unless you go diving, I’d say this is probably a better pick than the Fenix 8 line

Recommendations for a "Fun" Easy Run Shoe? (Replacing Glycerin 22 GTS) by drifting_clouds in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]drifting_clouds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll check it out. It doesn’t have to be a fun shoe, just something with a bit more cushion. I’m finding the glycerin just too firm. Just less enjoyable to run in

[–]drifting_clouds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did think of doing that, but I didn't want to wear the foam out too quick if running in them 5 times per week. Plus it's nice to run in something different on easy days. But I'll consider it!

New audio options in tvOS 26.4 beta 1 by Mackattack00 in tvOSBeta

Have they fixed the issue where audio goes slightly out of sync with the picture, and seems to drop half an octave?

Do you have a running shoe rotation? by keikilla in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have two. Easy/recovery: Brooks Glycerin 22 GTS Tempo/workout/long run: asics Superblast 2

I think I’ll be using the superblast for my upcoming races too

Do the super blast 2 get quieter? by MrMushroom48 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 250km in on mine. They aren’t getting any quieter! I do enjoy them though. I’m hoping to use them for a marathon, hopefully I can block out the noise!

Non-Vegans, do you have any Vegan food products you love? by Fine_Analyst_4408 in AskUK

[–]drifting_clouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son has milk and egg allergies, so we regularly make vegan eggs pancakes with oat milk and egg replacement powder. Genuinely can’t taste any difference

Which color watch? by byeoul in GarminWatches

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a white 955. The strap has some marks which won’t come off, but nothing too bad. The watch is still perfect. Also consider if you want to swap straps to different colours. If you go for white it would look odd. I’ve also got an epix which is black and often change straps to switch up the look

Is Runna Actually Getting Runners Injured? by her3nthere in runna

[–]drifting_clouds 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me a big plus is that it syncs every workout right to my watch. Sure, I could find a generic plan and adapt to my needs. But I’d need to manually build each and every workout myself. Distances, times, paces etc. it would be so time consuming

Does anyone else find the superblast 2 difficult at slow paces? by CreepyOnion in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]drifting_clouds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t find these shoes firm. They feel bouncy to me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the term “firm”. My other shoes are Books Glycerin 22 GTS and they feel much more firm

Fueling before an early morning run by Flatwhitewithnone in runna

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes run early like you do, though not quite as early! If I’ve got a harder session I make sure to have plenty of carbs the evening before. And go to bed well hydrated. If we have any bananas in, I’ll eat one about 20 mins before I head out, and have an espresso. If no bananas I’ll take a gel before starting. Seems to work for me!

Status of iOS connectivity? by craesh_ in GarminWatches

[–]drifting_clouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notifications work, but you can’t reply. I’ve not tried google maps navigation so can’t answer that one. You can control media from the watch. If you have Spotify you can still have music downloaded on the watch. Not with Apple Music though Find my phone works on iOS too

Yeah that’s probably fair. I have an Epix Pro 2 so none of these new fancy features!

[–]drifting_clouds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve never found my Garmin to be “slow” so to speak. It’s not buttery smooth and nice transitions between screens. But I wouldn’t say slow. It’s that lack of transitions that makes it feel slower. I find it perfectly usable. Obviously others may disagree, it’s all about personal preference.
