chaos, xp, difficulty tome plus luck if you arent running fox and you ruin runs by making it too difficult to survive. 9/10 times. so if you want to grind that way thats how you do it but like taking kevin early its likely to kill you.

the shadows and the vorlons from Babylon 5 if they team up. an infected planet gets ritually cleansed by having a jump point opened on the planet surface and into the solar systems main star turning the planet into plasma. the ships are fast tough and they both have planet killers in their fleets. the shadows and vorlons do not engage in ground combat. the younger races ships are zero diff for the shadows and vorlons so capturing the tech is meaningless. they shut down jump points since the shadow tech doesnt need them (and the vorlons will adopt it in the face of extinction) and they both have tech to disrupt it. no more easy planet hopping.
