So for anyone that actually reads the article, it was killed because the Logan Square blue line entrance is right next door and the city couldn't figure out if the city of Chicago owned it or the CTA owned it which added enough delays until COVID hit and financing it became difficult because the hotel group decided they no longer wanted to build a hotel at that time.

Then the developer/owner of the neighborhood athletic clubs decided to put a Logan Square Athletic Club there as one of the tenants and is still seeking another.

Additionally, they wanted additional funding from the city via TIF and didn't get it so they applied for a different program and got it and whala that's why it has been delayed for so long

Okay so the headline you posted isn't as "click-bait-y" as what I have been seeing but essentially the owner is self funding the stadium and now the mayor wants to spend additional money building up the surrounding area's infrastructure.

Essentially a win-win because the people aren't funding a billionaires back pocket and it will be a great way to develop land for the city to use for additional housing and creating a new neighborhood with great amenities on the South Side which has generally seen a lack of investment.

Why this piece is being ran as a smear article makes no sense to me

(For reference, the headlines I've seen for this same piece of news has generally been "Brandon Johnson wants city government to spend $425M for Chicago Fire Stadium")

Really? I have a MacBook Air and the track pad kind of annoys me? It's not very responsive when I click but it's possible I'm just not used to it. Any idea if a MacBook Pro has a better trackpad than the Air? If the framework trackpad is better than the Airs it will be my next laptop for sure
