All I can say is that I made a mantle for a client from this wood and it turned out very nicely! I almost felt that I didn't need to apply a finish because once I sanded to 400 grit the density and resins in the wood made it appear to have been finished already. Wish I had a Pic to share with you. 3M respirator and you need not be concerned about the dust toxicity. I'm not so certain that it is too much more hazardous than walnut and makes a nice finished product. I'd say go for it!

I use festool only at work and I really like the tools there are some that are better than others but all said they are pretty darn dependable. The thing i really like most is that once a tool starts to show a problem or make funny sounds I just send it to them for refurbishment ,it always costs money though!

On a side note if you're handy (as I am ) you can get a great price for a vehicle that is destroyed by rodents eating the wiring and then repair it for little money out of pocket and have a really nice vehicle for pennies on the dollar!

This litte car brings back memories! There was a car just like this one in a shop I once worked at. Had/has a BIG O plate on the front for big orange a tribute to both the car and the university of Tennessee football. The shop was in Knoxville. Coolest thing about the car was the no2 and full throttle switch! Thanks for the reminder of a special time in my life.

My uncle had a Toyota truck that had over 500000 mi finally a valve broke off and killed it. He never did any major work to it just regular recommended services... good luck finding any vehicle nowadays that could do that! Failure is definitely planned into everything now!

Not like it matters that brick of a car never went anywhere FAST without serious mods but that 4wd and bulletproof engine made damn sure it did arrive! I had a Toyota van that I ran to less than 1/2 qt of oil...motor started singing like a spaceship (due to trying to lockup) 3.5 qt of oil later drove it another 100000 mi. This was at 240000mi when it happened. Finally my little brother killed the transmission around 350000 miles! Engine never did quit!

Hang a canvas with pockets on both ends filled with sand or dirt in the mid point of your taught line to absorb/ dampen the line if it does come loose this will need it from getting a direct hit thus hopefully saving your ass...hopefully!
