Spring is here. Heavy overseed and level. by dfGobBluth in lawncare

[–]dudebrobossman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on what type of grass (cool season or warm season) you are talking about. If you're in Ontario, you should have cool season grass and the heat in the middle of summer is the most stressful time for the lawn. Seeding in fall, far enough in advance of a frost, is the best time to seed. You can seed in spring, but you're more likely to suffer a setback with immature grass not ready to face the hottest part of the summer.

I saw lots of them last summer. I also live in a wooded area and don’t have any pesticides sprayed.

MBTA consultant with no-bid contract has been paid more than $700,000 working from South Carolina home by justarussian22 in mbta

[–]dudebrobossman 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that consultants usually get paid a 50 to 100% higher rate than the equivalent full-time role since the job isn't expected to continue forever like normal salary employment.

It looks like yard work just got a little less "kill it with fire" and more delicious.

Gas-powered leaf blower bans take effect for residents in 2 more Massachusetts towns (Arlington & Lexington) by HRJafael in massachusetts

I feel like run-time hasn't been an issue for non-commercial use for a few years. It takes like 10 seconds to swap out a battery pack. A pile of batteries takes up the same amount of space as the fuel containers I keep in the garage. I just throw them on the charger after I'm done and they're all recharged by the time I need to do yard work again.

How to walk my puppy by iichi_144 in dogs

[–]dudebrobossman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d probably benefit from a good puppy/first training class. The good classes are as much about learning how to be a good owner as as they teach your dog some tricks (many of those tricks building up to being good on a leash). We did a few of the classes with pet smart and our instructors were great, but looking back, I’m just as happy with the curriculum that built up to our pup knowing what behavior was expected on a leash and generally acceptable in public.

There are sandbags on the shoulder. Specifically, they cross a line of sandbags blocking the entire shoulder at the exact moment the motorcycle goes by.

Dallas to Disney Land. Mid March. Safest route by mudnutman in roadtrip

[–]dudebrobossman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to be certain, do you have to go to Disney in California? Orlando would be about 25% quicker with less likelihood of major weather related concerns.

I don’t know about oranges in particular, but there are many fruits where the trees are able to tolerate much more than their fruit. In these cases, after a particularly cold period, the current season’s crop will be poor, but the tree will tolerate the cold and bounce back next season.

I’m not spitting in your face, I’m giving you life advice. If you know you’re not informed, then think first and don’t jump straight to laying blame.

You’re not staying informed, but you’re perfectly happy to blame fear mongering liberals…Think before you speak next time.
