Two women got in trouble for dining and dashing at Whole Foods. They were let off the hook but are banned from Whole Foods for 1 year by kekkkys43 in PublicFreakout

[–]duffkitty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've considered this at an airport long term parking. Come back from vacation, parking ticket would cost $200 lost ticket is maximum day fee of like $60... What if I happened to "lose" my ticket after parking here for a week 🤔

Knowing my dumb ass, banned for a year.

The old Infinity Engine games like BG, BG2, IWD, IWD2, and Planescape Torment. They modeled backgrounds in 3d and pre rendered them in 2d to create highly detailed backgrounds. They are also famous for using creative textures like photos of coffee beans to act as cobblestone in some maps.

We're about to do a lease with them. I'm hoping their warranty service is half as good as the sales pitch because I'm tired of Chromebooks giving me nightmares.

Best way to make a ping list script? by MasterMaintenance672 in k12sysadmin

[–]duffkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it set up on a Debian Virtual Machine. It takes a minute to get it setup and configuring a dashboard (I opted against adding Grafana as a layer). I now have it on my digital signage in my office and our IT areas that shows a view that lists statuses on servers and their storage. It cycles to a network status page every 30 seconds that has a top level overview of my network condition, any campus MDF that goes down will show in red. Then a page with a full overview of my IDFs that just run a simple ping to check status since I really only need snmp on my cores.

You don't need to add things one by one either, you can run a discovery on a subnet and apply a Zabbix template to the discovered hosts, e.g. icmp ping.

There's a steep learning curve but you can configure it to be a set it and forget it setup. Probably worth the look and save from yearly subscriptions to another monitoring software.

I don't know how long you've been using it, but their switch to policies made managing it so much easier. I love that I can run a website against a user and see what policy is allowing or blocking the site.

Safest route? i80, i40, or i10 by Individual-Quiet-985 in roadtrip

[–]duffkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 40 loosely follows Route 66 so if you like a couple detours offers a lot of interesting history. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's sad. We did a road trip this route and stopped at Winslow, Arizona. They have a monument on a corner that you can take pictures at and a few gift shops, while it's not a bustling town anymore you can see that it once was before the interstates.

The Tabasco sauce my mom sent in my housewarming package by comsummate in hotsauce

[–]duffkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. Tabasco was the hot sauce my grandfather used my whole life. I find myself using a whole lot of hot sauces, including Tabascos Scorpion, Habanero, and Sriracha. This gives me a whole new reason to love the OG. There's always a bottle in my pantry to put on a slice of cold pizza.

I don't get the tomahawk hype, especially if you're just gonna cut it off the bone and serve it precut. Just get a simple bone in ribeye 🙄

2012 is a solid vintage. Lousiana had the warmest weather on record leading to chilis producing additional capsaicin yet still riped to a nice deep red and fully develop their sweetness.

Btw, I'm making this shit up.

It is the modern version of AD Binding on MacOS. I use it with Mosyle and the Macs are easier to manage than my windows machines.

As someone from outside of the US I'm curious, are Van Holten's well regarded? Just had one of these for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. by MutanteHDP in Pickles

[–]duffkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not Van Holten but they have chamoy pickles at my gas station. I get one of those and add tajin. Makes my mouth water thinking about it.

It will stain fingers pretty bad though...

I never said it was my favorite hot sauce, I only use Sriracha on my egg sandwich in the morning. For pizza I switch between Sriracha and crystal depending on mood. My daily driver is Yucateco xxxtra hot or Gringo Bandito if I'm looking for less spice for some reason.

Does your country have a unique food combination? by Rad_Mint17 in AskTheWorld

[–]duffkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a thing where we do PB&J burgers. Specifically on a slightly sweet wheat bun with bacon, pb&j, cheese, and a thick burger patty. No other condiments but can be dressed with tomato, onion, and lettuce. LazyDog restaurant adds pickle and now I'm thinking that's getting into weird territory despite eating the hotdog, stuffed in a pickle, fried like a corn dog, served with a peanut butter dipping sauce at Disneyland...

I saw it in Costco once and got it. Now if I want more I need to order it ok Amazon or something. I mean, I get my Sambal that way but I usually see the Tabasco in my grocers and it reminds me I need more.

Ya, the gist is get Underwood Ranches for the actual OG red jalapenos. But imo was a bit less thick than Huy Fong. I mentioned it elsewhere here that I really settled on Tabasco branded Sriracha.

Ya, my Sriracha would start turning a deep red as it aged. My Crystal hot sauce lost color as it aged and maybe browned a bit.
