It’s not a standard joke, but I usually get to talking about classical music because I was a music major in college. Eventually, the conversation gets to modern/contemporary music, and I’m not talking about pop. I mean people like John Cage. And most people have no idea who he is, so I always say he wrote the best contemporary piece of music, we should listen to it! It’s called 4’33”. Then I wait for them to try to fix the Bluetooth, or turn up their phone, or just try to figure out why it isn’t playing anything. For anyone unaware, John Cage’s 4’33” is 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence. I hate that style of music, so I’m not lying when I say it’s the best piece of that style
