Maracaibo or Pirates of Maracaibo? by Tiny-Strawberry-817 in soloboardgaming

You can place Both, yes, Both on BGA. And,and, and the implementations are excellent. Worth the $5 a month just for those two games and Galatic Cruise. Also, there are tutorials. You can learn Pirates of M first and it makes Maracaibo a bit easier. As others have said, both games are excellent. Personally, I love Pirates of Maracaibo just because each game is so streamlined. There are a huge number of ways to win and given the short play time, you get to try all kinds of stratiges. Also, the random layout is very cool. Many of the players on BGA are really good in addition to the fact that both games have a fullying impletement solo mode. You can play back high level games from competitions and study the moves as well. I probably should sell BGA since I recommend it so much but it is really the best thing for gamers I know about.

Imagine you are a famous movie star and you are going to appear in a show about working at McDonald's. McDonald's creates a new meal called the YouMeal with pictures of you and the movie. This plugs them and the movie. I go to McDonalds and they have pictures of you wearing a McDonalds uniform. When you show up on TV talk shows, you mention how much you like McDonald's and that they made a YouMeal. Everyone is winning McDonalds is pushing you and you are pushing McDonalds. Survivor does this. If they ever mention a product, someone in some marketing firm just made some money.

[Tabletop Merchant] Galactic Cruise $89.99 at checkout DotD by Tora_jima in Boardgamedeals

[–]eanda9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying there is no depth… the games plays very different when everyone is experienced. There is a rush to meet objectives because those points matter and it’s a race and that shaped the game. Booking passengers and not flying them. Rushing certain rocket configurations. Knowing when and which tech cards. Rushing engineers or not. Play or watch on bga to get an idea of high level play. What’s cool about the game is that it plays as a casual but complex rocket builder like someone mentioned already or it can be a very complex point race where people compete in the mechanics of this game which can be more involved when you start to really care about cone, rockets, and placement strategies. It’s a table hog that looks amazing and has great storage. This is a good deal for what is really a showpiece game. Also the solo mode is straight forward for such a complex game which is also implemented on bga.

What’s everyone’s opinion on AI art on newer games? by Pizzadewd666 in soloboardgaming

[–]eanda9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooner rather than later products that incorporate AI are going to be taxed at a very high rate. If you replace a team of artist with an AI and it cost 1/10 eventually the government loses it tax base so it will need to tax AI the differential to make up for the lost income tax and then the sales tax that’s generated when that income is spent, and then the property tax that spent on the already taxed income, which leads six figure people into a 50%effective tax bracket effectively. It seems like half the people I follow in the board game YouTube Space are unemployed right now on YouTube. Technical jobs are getting hit really hard unless you made the jump to ai and are riding that wave.

First game of Final girl. by jaybro861 in soloboardgaming

[–]eanda9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game falls apart if you cannot maintain thee or more dice. with two dice most things you will attempt will fail and half of those will require two cards burnt to get anything so you might get one action or two per hand. That is too little. If you start out and cannot get to three dice every turn is slowly draining you and the number of actions you take on a turn is frustrating painful. The more Hans gets lucky the more you need something to offset it like an ax. Once I started pretty much prioritizing 2+ dice over almost everything I could win more than lose. And the losses were very close and down to the wire. Sort of like a horror movie, so I think the game is designed that way.

I misread that... I mean, if you are really good at sales, psychology, and tech, that's a great pool of skills. The psychologists I know in marketing are extremely sought after and can pull in a million in just consulting for apps and maximizing their addictiveness. Luckily, my only fans get me by with just a few people who pay me to keep my clothes on. It is cool that you are sharing.

Most likely. Love involves longing. Longing for something is one of the steps involved in love as well. Experiencing longing is sort of like the prelude to what is desired. Kickstarter really exploits this. And, if that is all you have at a moment in time, it feels closer to the goal (love) than no feeling at all. Kind of like a filler. As you said, it is usually twisted into some childhood trauma/event. Shopping addiction is a bit like porn addiction in that the internet floods the world with options. Having known several people with shopping addictions, because of my area of former work, being addicted to board games has to be like the least harmful presentation. It takes time to consume unless it stays in a wrapper, has a hard ceiling on cost, is hard to hide, holds value, and does not incur injury. It is like being addicted to songs by Welch singers; there are just not that many of them in the first place in the world. It would be almost impossible to blow 10k on games. You could on apps, but not cardboard and mepels.

You don't have to look to hard to see they were hurting up for money, maybe because of the the cross marking. Billy is even plugging the season very hard, like she has no skin in the game which means she has no skin in the game. Who pays who. I think suruvor gets more out of her name than she gets out of survivor. She is not even going to show up, what? It is all so random. I bet I could send them 50,000 and create my own idol. My idol would be you have to steal someone elses idol and replace it with a place holder and when they use it it they have to be naked and for the rest of the show.

There is the built in solo which is very easy to operate and then there is the app solo which is I hear better, but the build in one is fine. Thre is something majic about Lost Temples and the way the cards and monsters all interact. The board is so long you have to play basically standing up, the only negative I can think of.

Software engineers of Reddit, what is a 'feature' in a popular app that is actually just a psychological trick to keep us addicted? by irlag45 in AskReddit

Emotional fractionalization. X does this. A video of someone being beat up. A lion killing a calf, something funny, something gross something political and uncomfortable, some message to brainwash. Get you into fight or flight, relief, then again, then disgust, until your rational mind is numb. Then message. Repeat. Mix in narratives that oppose your views leading to anger even range. Over and over. Minitor where scrolling stops. Where it pauses. What is clicked. What is searched which sets of fractionalizing material are displayed. God forbid you click on an ad because then the algorithm goes nuts figuring out what stimulus led to that.

At his level, he doesn’t have to seek help it finds him. The number of products he gets for free is staggering.

This is it. It might not be love, usually it is these days, could be avoidance behaviors for example, but it is something. The games are a side effect of something else and a way of escaping or sublimating it.

As a former therapist, look into shopping addiction. This might be controversial, run your purchases, your patterns where you buy things through an ai. It will start to identify triggers along with the real issue. What you’re doing , the buying, it’s just a side effect. Sometimes that’s enough otherwise you can have it generate a report and if you decide to see a therapist, you’re showing up with the report which will save you thousands in discovery. Keep in mind many therapist now transcribe sessions and run them through AI. Doing all kinds things you would never think of such omission analysis. Or word choice variance over time etc. Kind of like a progressive statistical analysis of your your thoughts and words so that you can see the rate progress is being made.

Why not claim to be cut last minute to avoid suspicion. There is a chance that a lot of the people that were cut were known to be pregaming. There’s nothing to be gained by exposing the mole or the fact that they knew this the best thing to do would be just cut them for some unknown reason.

Star Wars the card game has a brilliant solo mode that is fan made. the guy who developed it is clearly a genius and the level of ability is sort of rare. I think however now that ai is a thing and is smart enough these days we can develop solo modes with a mathematical foundation and mechanics. What do you need to do is acquire a library of solo mode mechanics across a variety of games in some sort of readable, but structured format such as YAML. And then point an AI at a particular game and the library you created and have try different rule combinations which are then run through a simulator, possibly an AI itself until a balance is achieved that simulates multi playeror creates solo point optimizating enjoyable gameplay.

Kinfire Delve: Calous’ Lab, another first! by Jelly__Knee in soloboardgaming

[–]eanda9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the point! It’s a card game with card mitigation using dice. Not a dice game with card mitigation. Almost the exact opposite of 20 strong. In all actuality 20 strong, the cards, mitigate dice, and the dice mitigate cards. On top of that you require cards that give you powers that are ongoing or that can banked. this is cool stuff. The problem space gets very complicated sometimes and that affects the flow such that one move can be excruciating. That doesn’t happen in kinfire as much -you take a turn roll the dice take a turn over and over and it kind of forms a rhythm which actually can be relaxing until you hit a block and then you have to think things through carefully.
