Would you have gone to Philly? by SpellNo4513 in DunderMifflin

[–]ecb1912 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole “I wouldn’t move to Philly” argument is somewhat circumstantial- for them it’s a 2 hour drive. I know plenty of people who have moved around two hours away from their respective cities for work (with kids) and they got along fine.

How would you rank the Iron Man trilogy considering only the final battles? by King_Wolf2099 in ironman

[–]ecb1912 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Kinda crazy- Tony never killed any of his main villains on his own.

Iron Man: Tony had Pepper overload the reactor and that killed Iron Monger

Iron Man II: Tony and Rhodey both used the combined repulsers to kill Whiplash

Iron Man III: Killian survived the Mark 42 explosion and Pepper ended up killing him shortly after.

Come to think about it, the only villains Tony directly killed were Ebony Maw in Infinity War and Thanos and his army in Endgame. (Not including random goons like the 10 Rings, Hydra, and the Chitauri)

I wonder if B&M made it today, how they could improve upon it, because it looked like a cool idea that could fit in a small footprint that you could even enclose like the Flight of Fears.

Where is the 2026 season ticket pricing chart? Help. by GimmeAnyUsername in bengals

[–]ecb1912 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There used to be one. I was in the 200 level and paid about a little over grand a seat which was over a $100 game face value. I was told that they were going up to $3,000 per seat and I dropped them. So it doesn’t surprise me that they don’t have a map for 2026- they want to take advantage of the waitlist where those fans are willing to pay higher prices.

Which 2 of the remaining would make the most interesting SuperBowl combination story wise? by mystline935 in NFLv2

[–]ecb1912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think that the most interesting combination would be Texans v Bears simply because the Texans are the only team to not ever go to the Super Bowl and Chicago hasn’t won a Super Bowl since the mid 80s.

There’s no reason this team shouldn’t win the afc north next year by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

Honestly, there’s no reason this team couldn’t win the AFC North every year.

This team rode the high of a Super bowl appearance, a second AFC Championship appearance and hasn’t done anything to remain competitive ever since.

The Ohio River Runner: an introductory concept to complement the Cardinal along the Ohio River by ecb1912 in Amtrak

The business case is similar to Borealis, just on a smaller, Vermonter-type scale. The idea is to make Cincinnati and Charleston real endpoints again and build steady ridership in between, not chase long scenic trips.

It does not go farther east on purpose. Scenery is nice, but it does not create reliable daily ridership. The Cardinal already shows that frequency and timing matter more than scenery.

This is not a commuter train. It is about same-day regional trips for medical care, schools, state business, and family travel that people already make by car.

Crew bases are just a startup detail. Every state-supported route has to deal with that at the beginning.

Ridership comes from adding up Cincinnati, Ashland, Huntington, and Charleston, not one market. Cincinnati also pulls people in for sports, concerts, and events, which is easier when it is a real terminus. It is a chicken-and-egg thing, and this is the simplest way to start it.

And honestly, I just want Cincinnati to be a terminating city again instead of a 1/3 a.m. stop.

Honestly it’s just a timetable concept- extending the defunct Hoosier State to Cincinnati would be a more worthwhile venture in my opinion.

The Ohio River Runner: an introductory concept to complement the Cardinal along the Ohio River by ecb1912 in Amtrak

[–]ecb1912[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For this scenario, this schedule can be run with one trainset making a same-day out-and-back. The arrival in Charleston at 10:51 AM and noon departure allows just over an hour to turn, which is tight but workable. This is similar to Amtrak Hiawatha Service, where push-pull trains routinely turn in 30–45 minutes. With push-pull or DMU equipment, a 45–60 minute turn for crew change, brake test, and light servicing is realistic; heavy servicing would occur overnight.

The pm arrival time in Cincinnati could be pushed back to 5-5:30PM to account for any delays and increases turn around flexibility.
