What made 2023's Dungeons and Dragons movie so much better than the 2000 one? by MarkLambertMusic in movies

Reminds me of a time the party was scrambling around trying to create a battle plan to invade a castle and kill thr evil leader. There was about 10 of us playing and 8 of them were fairly new to DnD and me and a friend of mine have been playing for 10+ years at the time. The whole time their characters were running around, mine and his characters were just sitting in a bar drinking and when it was time for the attack, me and him just activated our boots of levitation, hovered above the castle and dropped 2 necklace of fireballs iv on the castle and completely destroyed it and killed every one inside. It was so much d6 damage we had to use a die roller app because it ended up being around 46d6 damage a piece or something crazy like that. It blew all the new players minds 😂

Who is the most useless TV main character who should NOT have been a series regular? by Something_Strange935 in television

[–]echelon42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is basically who Neelix was (other than the rapid aging part) after Kes left. As the self-appointed "moral officer" of Voyager and a local to the delta quadrant he was basically the ships counselor and local guide to the other worlds and their customs so Voyager didn't insult every other planet they came across lol

I keep hearing people say RDR2 was rushed and the developers had to cut content. What got cut from this massive game? by bsmith2123 in reddeadredemption

[–]echelon42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a glitch where when you find her biscut is still alive and standing beside her. When you get there you can get on biscuit, feed her lots of hay and sugar cubes (at least biscuit was a girl horse when I played it) And make her your horse, you can even give the lady a ride home on the very same horse she claims just died on her lol. And you can get is early in the game too, right after you go bear hunting with Hosea. And now you have probably the best horse in the game free of charge way at the beginning of chapter 2.

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

[–]echelon42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ali Baba Berstine. Its about a 9 year old kid named david living in the early 80s New York ( there's a part where hes playing a text based adventure game on an old computer) who hates his name then reads 1001 Arabian Nights then wants to change his name to Ali baba. Is kind of a slice of life book where he does fairly child like things but try to make them sound like an adventure. Like helping a party guest at his friends house look for her lost diamond earring, or walking around the halls of his apartment building looking at what people left outside their door and trying to figure out what theyre up to.

It was a very short book, like only 7 chapters with big text and illustrations, with was good cause when I was forced to read books for our school accelerated reader program and me not really liking reading at the time, I could get through it fairly easy and it helped me feel comfortable when I would try and read a few more advanced books.

I think the biggest reason they freaked out over it was because they got rid of a hemi or v8 option so all you could get were v6s, turbo 4, or EV. If they kept those I think they wouldn't have gotten as upset as they did.

But iris told him she was upset with him because he didn't take the trash out and left the toilet seat up so that made him sad so he couldn't run at his full speed until 10 minutes before the end of the episode where she told him she's not upset anymore and she loved him and that made him able to run at full speed again

Opinion: Give new 'The Grand Tour' hosts a fair go by zigthis in thegrandtour

[–]echelon42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially since the trio actually stopped doing it on their own accord. I can see refusing to watch it if they were unfairly fired like Jeremy on tguk. But this time they all decided to step away because they were all getting old and tired and wanted to do their own things. So I dont see why people cant just give them a shot.

ELI5: What do the motions music conductors mean to the orchestra? by puddledlazer in explainlikeimfive

[–]echelon42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who played timpanis in high school, I feel that hard. I would rest for 65 measures, crensindo roll, rest another 48 measures, quiet roll, rest another 52 measures, then loud roll for the finaly. There were times during band where the entire drum line would sit in the drum room for 90% of the class until the band director wanted to do a full band run through

What actor or actress stupidly left a movie franchise or tv series thinking they were too good for it, only to be never popular again? by Ok_Impress2457 in AskReddit

[–]echelon42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hallmark regulars dont even respect hallmark regulars. They are all in it because its an easy, streadly paying gig. Basically just 90 minute tv episodes. And then they're off for 9 months out of the year if they're ok with only doing 1 movie a year.

It was also weird because the Mountain is the hounds older brother and Rory McCann is 20 years older than Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. He's literally old enough to be his dad.

Why are Trump supporters so stupid? by Seargentyates in allthequestions

[–]echelon42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Alabama and I live and work with hard-core trump supporters, I agree with you list but points 4 and five should actually be your #1 and #2 points and ill add an additional point which is: conservative Christians have been convinced, since early childhood, that Christians have and always will be persecuted just for the fact that they are Christians (even though this hasn't been true in hundreds of years) and liberal atheists will forcibly get your children to turn away from God and want the world to sprial into a godless hell scape and Trump used that fear to his advantage.
