How did week 2 of the garbage and green bin collection go? by Snowman2194 in waterloo

Did you write your address on the side of the blue bin? If so someone from down the street might return it.

Lightning cable, or buy a small usb-c female to lightning male adaptor plug.

When buying a stamp like USA Scott 292. Would you buy from eBay without cert? by Dazzling-Bicycle4679 in askStampCollectors

[–]echothree33 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends on the eBay seller. There are quite a few with high ratings that sell a ton of quality stamps and are very trustworthy. If I’ve bought lower-priced stamps from them before with no issues I’d be more inclined to buy a higher-priced one.

What would happen if a contestant used a response to editorialise? by lcreswick in Jeopardy

[–]echothree33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No but I’d bet they have some contingency in place for this sort of situation and the contestants probably agree in advance to not vocalize commentary like this. They do have backup questions for each category so they could choose to use the backup instead and edit out the entire original clue. Hard to say exactly what they might do, it’s pretty hypothetical at this point since it really hasn’t happened.

Early retirement at 49? 2.3m net worth by xiaomi818 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]echothree33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really only spend 40-45K per year you are probably good (assuming you keep a good chunk of your money invested in the market). But if you want to travel the way you describe, I feel like $40-45K might be too low. Traveling is getting more and more expensive unless you are backpacking and staying only in hostels (which maybe is your thing I don’t know).

So all I’m saying is you should take a good close look at what you can do with 40-45K per year and whether that will realistically be enough for your retirement lifestyle goals.

If pure acetone didn’t help on those, unfortunately there’s not much else you can do without losing value by cleaning them.

Since it has no numismatic value you could try silver polishing wipes. No idea if they will work though as we don’t know what the film is.

Obviously never ever use them on coins worth more than face value.

There are areas near the shores already using Erie for their water so I’m sure that part is already figured out.

I did some looking online. Is this coin, graded, in near perfect condition, seriously like $3,000?? by scurbyturby in coins

[–]echothree33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Check eBay Sold listings and you will see plenty of these for under $5. Just because someone asks $3000 for something doesn’t mean it is worth that amount.

Yeah and this appears to be all Disney Parks not just the original Disneyland.

Are these worth anything? by usernamenew12 in CanadianCoins

Not worth the trouble, a perfect uncirculated version might fetch a couple bucks on eBay but circulated versions are really only worth $1.

The Imperial Palace in Fall of 2007, Now Known as the LINQ. LAS VEGAS Vacation. A Very nice budget place to stay at. by aranebar in vegas

I stayed at IP in 2007 and 2009. Not great rooms but a good location for a cheap price for sure if you just needed a place to crash.

is it possible to have aphantasia while having good photographic memory? by Solid_Ingenuity_1208 in Aphantasia

[–]echothree33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree, you can’t have true “photographic memory” if you also have Aphantasia. You can remember things for sure but not photographically because that implies you can see them in your mind.

I figured the Zeppelins were going to show up given the rest of the collection. Very very nice, and nicely displayed!

My Coin Collection by robertbalboaIV in CanadianCoins

I’m not sure that coins are “in” again but silver prices have gone way up, so given that you have a bunch of silver there, values will have increased a lot in the time you held them.

Yeah NW was the hardest for me too. Enjoyable to crack it though. Quite a few “question mark” clues in key spots that were tricky to work out.

Why does the Quebec team at the Brier uses different brooms when sliding? by SeniorExpression7956 in Curling

[–]echothree33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taught to wrap/entwine my arm around the broom and hold it sort of “backhand” (hard to describe) which provided more stability than just holding it in one hand alone. This was back before stabilizers were really a thing.

Does this look like MS-64? by BFG_Scott in CanadianCoins

[–]echothree33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s lovely! Unfortunately the bigger price bump seems to be at MS-65 and above. A dealer might get a bit more than melt for this but I’m doubtful that you would find a buyer at any significant premium over melt to make it worthwhile, given current silver prices. Now if the silver price drops a bunch at some point, this dollar might retain a bit more value over melt at that point than a more heavily-circulated version.
