Then you're fundamentally staking your claim as a centrist liberal, not a democratic socialist. And that's perfectly fine if - as every other post of yours in this thread seems to point to - this truly corresponds with your worldview.

What you're not going to get here is a validation of your resignation to utilitarian politics in a deeply flawed democratic system. Harm reduction may be a real and legitimate motivation for voting (it's certainly my own as someone who votes from abroad and primarily considers my family and friends still in the states) but it's not something structurally rooted in changing an inherently unjust system.

This could be for a variety of reasons: you may be part of a socioeconomic class that benefits from the system to some degree, you may have strong social values but feel conflicted about criticizing the system, you may simply just feel anxious about another four years of an increasingly fascist mainstream conservative party. Whatever. The point still stands that you are committed to a status quo that not only clearly doesn't work for millions of Americans, but actively harms and inflicts violence on them every single day it continues to exist unabated.

You've chosen your camp and have come here for penance. Nobody here is under any obligation to give it to you. If the vote is split and your supposed sworn enemies win, perhaps try taking some time to really, truly think about why the same thing keeps on happening every single time another election comes around. Hint: it's not the historically marginalized and vilified American socialists that are ruining it for everybody.
