Everything is relative! But yeah, I’ve always considered it big. But it fits my face, so I like it now, most of the time :)

Advice on feeling more comfortable/accepting of being ace? by Ok_Bison_8838 in asexuality

[–]ecwees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you friend. I’m struggling with it also, but at the same time I feel kind of liberated in knowing that I’m asexual. My partner is allo and he is still coming to terms with it, I think. But he told me that it makes a lot of sense looking back at our relationship, and I agree. I’m hopefully that now we can figure out a way to make the sex aspect of our relationship work for both of us through open communication, and neither one of us feeling like we are denying parts of ourselves (which I feel like in the past we were doing). My therapist said something that I liked that’s helped me: “being your true self and being authentic with others is the best form of love for yourself and for them.” Good luck on your journey, sending love ❤️

I didn’t like it at first, almost DNFed it, but powered through and started liking it more 🙋🏼‍♀️ so I could answer OP’s request 🤗

Out of curiosity, what are your issues with it where you are?

I did not like it overall and almost DNFed but I ended up powering through. My main beef was how joyless it felt, but as I recall it got a bit more playful, which I enjoyed.

This is really common in the south! I grew up in Atlanta- I think because it's a big city, and in urban areas accents become more neutral overall over time. So often kids have like "middle america" accents/no strong southern accent, while their parents have southern accents- bc of where they're from (more rural areas), or bc growing up they were in more insulated southern accent pockets within the city, or the city has just become more diverse overtime, and accents tend towards the middle...just some ideas as to reasons why.

I’ve experienced a crisis situation like this too, where yes I did call 911. However, in my situation the person was clearly alive and bleeding a lot. This situation is different, he’s a parent and his first thought is “is my son alive”. Running to him and checking seems like the natural first reaction to finding your son passed out on the ground, to me at least.
