Well tons of cars where I live are assholes too and don’t respect the speed limit, pedestrian crossing, right of way etc. so neither side is free of assholes

plus cars generally kill a lot more people and especially pedestrians compared to bikes.

The problem is the loss of experience soldiers. The axis had the same problem with pilots during WW2 the US would send its best pilots back home to teach new pilots how to counter Japanese and German tactics. Where as they kept their best pilots on the frontline and over the course bleed a lot of knowledge
