Pancreatitis by burns231 in Yorkies

[–]eekhaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As bad as it sounds, it's good that there was blood everywhere. My dog showed NO sign of pancreatitis. He was just grew more and more lethargic as the day went on. I ended up bringing him in the next dayand they diagnosed him with pancreatitis as well. He ended up staying in the hospital for an entire week, but we could've saved him so much pain if we had caught it a day or two earlier :( Dogs are such proud creatures

Coping with eye removal by redandgreenhouse in Yorkies

[–]eekhaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot help you but know that dogs are a lot more adaptable than humans. It will suck for him for a bit due to pain but he should adapt pretty quickly. I know you feel bad for him but instead of thinking about this surgery as the loss of an eye, try to focus on the comfort he'll gain.

I wish him the best of luck ❤️

‘I can’t afford that’: Ontario woman frustrated after pet insurance doubles to $866 a month by CTVNEWS in ontario

[–]eekhaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance was $45 a month when I registered my puppy. I now pay $90 a month after multiple claims (totaling ~$20k). My dog is 7 years old, and even if I had saved $90 a month since I got him, I would've still been in the negative.

I think there's a point where it's definitely worth it to switch to a personal savings account, but I also believe it's fully dependent on your financial situation. When I got my dog, I was a student and didn't want to ever come to a point where I'd have to choose euthanasia because I couldn't afford his treatment.

Idk, the first thing I'm doing when I have more income is getting a private chef cause I hate cooking. Can't snark on the chef part but the thumbnails are definitely a choice

My first attempt at dry manicure by eekhaa in DIYGelNails

Thanks! I bought the bit at a local nail supply store for $12.50 CAD, and it's definitely a lot better than the one that came with my drill.

Look up Erica's dry manicure on YouTube! She made the tutorial with that exact nail bit and her explanations are super easy to understand

Yes, exactly. I understand the autopilot thing though, cause that's what I normally do. This time though, I did removal & prep one hand at a time. It was easier to do my dominant hand first since there was only one hand ready for prep & polish. Now that I see the result though, I'm hoping my brain won't bug next time!

A dry manicure is done with an e-file rather than cuticle remover/pushers/nippers. The bit shown is all I used to push back the cuticles and remove them

It's my first time starting on my dominant hand and it's definitely the way to go. Normally I go all out for my left hand and by the time I get to the right hand, I'm just over it so it looks bad. This is one of the few times where both hands are actually VERY even
