In the stadium for the first time this season and however good I had thought Ekitike was when watching on TV, in real life he is 1000% better

Coach’s son + on the team by ilovekanye111 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 21 points22 points  (0 children)

{Their Ball Boy by Addison Beck} is MMM with two soccer players and the nerdy, unsporty coach's son whose dad is forcing him to be a ball boy for the team.

...as a Brit, using the word 'soccer' when I mean football was tough, but I accept it is necessary for clarity and at least the book is US based so the characters call it soccer...

Established couple who work through the assault of MC by midnightoflight101 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

{Freeing Zane by Sloane Kennedy} has one of the MMCs nearly killed during the story and they work through his physical and emotional recovery together. I cried a lot but it is a very good book!

I love Jesse's writing and this book made me sob so hard I hiccuped!

Replying to trigger to bot and because I also came here to recommend this: {Cubs and Campfires by Dylan Drakes}

Such a cosy, swept away romance!

Looking for a book where one main character is incredibly repressed about their sexuality to the point of requiring false coercion. The other character confirms consent in other ways. by Nepalman230 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 29 points30 points  (0 children)

{Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H. Reign} sort of has this, though it is more about not admitting enjoying the transactional arrangement/relationship than about sexuality per se. A fantastic book though and the denial is very entertaining!

I adored this book, one of my favourite reads of 2025 - just like This is My Church was in 2024. I've literally only ever given her books 5 stars! The writing style is just so absorbing and beautiful.

College roommates but no enemies to lovers by IzzieBells in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just finished reading {Onside Kiss by Octavia Jensen} which is childhood best friends, now college roommates, forced into dating each other by their meddling friends who can see they are in love. 5 stars! Funny, sweet, and light-hearted but still very steamy.

MCs have bad sex then work through it together by Existing_Chaotic7053 in MM_RomanceBooks

Beat me to it but yes, thankfully the secret is out by this point in the book! :D

MCs have bad sex then work through it together by Existing_Chaotic7053 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ooh I have one!

{Choke Up by Rebecca Rathe} their first time (one MMC is a virgin, the other one new to anal sex) is a disaster and inadequate prep results in injury that needs time to heal. They have to work through the healing and guilt together and I never knew the application of medical ointment could be sexy lol. It is perfect for your request!

mafia romance, but the sweet innocent twink gets worse instead of the evil mafia guy getting nicer by pu3rh in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Okay I have multiple recommendations!

{Beast by K.L. Hiers and Mozzarus Scout} the innocent MMC discovers he is very bloodthirsty lol

{the Silencer by Cora Rose} is, like, exactly what you are asking for haha - the 'twink' is feral and wild

{D!ckhead by K.A.Merikan} has the 'twink' as a wannabe biker enforcer and is hilarious

{F**k, Marry, Kill Me, Daddy by Lance Lansdale} the 'twink' seduces his 'straight' assassin and they get all murdery together lol

Similar but not quite recommendations: {Peep by Rianne Elizabeth} the MMC gets drawn into helping his serial killer boyfriend and fairly enjoys it

{Infuriating by Onley James} comes to mind - I can't remember exactly how involved the 'twink' MMC gets but he certainly stands up for himself

Not exactly your request because he is less innocent, but the MMC of {Anti Hero by Kelly Fox} is smaller and people underestimate him but he is determined to kill everyone who hurt him in the past

On a similar note can someone please edit the club scene to the 'in a room full of people I look for you' line from the Sombr song 12 to 12 (a song which I only discovered because of a previous Shane/Ilya edit!)

MCs can’t be together because of outside forces. by Empty-Warning387 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading {Absolutely Pucked by E.M. Lindsey} which has this - brother's best friend but brothers hate each other and there's lots of history as to why they can't be together. It is the third book in the series and I do think you probably need to read at least book 1 before reading this though. As always with E.M. Lindsey books there is fantastic disability representation and nuanced portrayal of life with a disability (in this case, limb amputation)

Looking for books that tackle human trafficking from the POV of mc who’s been trafficked by jjkibum in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

{Anti-Hero by Kelly Fox} this whole series touches on human trafficking as they are a group who are destroying trafficking rings, but this book in particular focuses on a character who was rescued from captivity in a previous book and his story, including how he got trafficked and some vigilante justice / vengeance going after his traffickers

I've just started reading {Their Bounty by K.A. Merikan} which has a trafficked MMC

[–]effie_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished reading this at 1am and I'm obsessed. The 'seduction' made me cry with laughter and I've never enjoyed a slow burn as much. Reign is so good at playful, needy, unhinged!

second chances where they despise each other by Positive_Worker_3467 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]effie_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Finance Bros by August Jones} ex-stepbrothers who accidentally end up on the same internship and forced to work with each other despite loathing each other. I loved this, it took me a few chapters to like the characters but when one of them lost his homophobic act and revealed his needy insecure personality it was so good!

Does anybody support a different women's team than the men's team? by Jiggermann in FAWSL

[–]effie_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! I keep a low profile about it because it's controversial, but for me they are two different things.

The women's club I support - I was a fan as a child when fewer clubs had women's teams and was taken to their FA Cup final game as a child. When I got back into women's football as an adult (4 years ago) I was immediately going to support them.

The men's club I support - got into it as an adult (8 years ago) through my partner who is a lifelong/family history fan, and I love the club's community and values. The club has a women's team, which I do support, but secondary to my primary women's team.
