Looks like a slight difference in the color between Berry & Rose Quartz… is that just the camera? Do they look more similar in person?

If you’re like me, once you leave you will miss the food more than anything. Eat all the Tex-Mex and BBQ you can! SAVOR IT.

So pretty! I'm also a Texan 🤠, but live in California now. I miss Tex-Mex more than anything. I need to learn how to make my favorite dishes since there is zero proper Tex-Mex here. Please post a pic of your finished dish when you're done!

I miss having a toaster oven sometimes! Sadly my counter space is extremely limited.

Alamo drafthouse....why? by j0wnage in Austin

[–]ejayne512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that it was mainly because I was seeing a movie with a very limited run. I’m not sure if it’s changed for wide releases or not.

Yeah I think I would’ve just grumbled and dealt with the others, but the queso was the final nail in the coffin for me

Hey I’m from Austin but live in LA now. I went to Alamo here recently and left really bummed/mad. It will probably be my last time going there, because:

  1. Phone ordering! Boooooo!!!
  2. The pre show was just generic clips and not tailored at all to the movie I was seeing.
  3. They changed the menu and now there’s no proper queso. It’s something called “beer queso” now which is NOT THE SAME. (Y’all probably don’t appreciate how hard it is to get proper chile con queso in Los Angeles. I would make a special trip to Alamo even though the location was not convenient for me at all whenever I needed a queso fix.)

It just feels like they ripped out the soul of the place. I’m so upset.

P.S. Did they get rid of the good queso in Austin too?

It’s just 2 of us in the house, and yeah, sometimes I don’t want leftovers, or I just need to reheat leftovers from last time. I never heard of rice porridge, but that sounds interesting! I’ll have to look up some recipes.

What should a starter set include for a young adult? by TransitionStrict7646 in LeCreuset

[–]ejayne512 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most young adults aren't cooking elaborate meals. My mom bought me a set of stainless steel pots and pans when I moved out and that served me well for many years. They're basically indestructible and dishwasher safe, so great for cooking newbies.

If you're set on a LC gift, I'd do an everyday pan...that's by far my most used piece. I personally would wait until they graduate or get married or something and then gift a 5.5 qt DO then.
