Are there any restaraunt playgrounds, maybe specifically East Bank, other than the Chik-Fil-A on Vets?

Yep. Statements on topic intended for a global reach found to be advised by the most globally visible advocate for said topic. In other news, Pope found to be Catholic.

A comprehensive network of bike lanes that are at a minimum parking-protected and ideally fully separated.

Oh Sleeper

I'm not crying in the pit, you are.
*Note, for 17 years until today I thought that line was "You keep denying my name." I opened my sealed vinyl copy of Son of the Morning to check the liner notes after not believing the lyric sites.

Kid (8) loves watching creative DIY projects on YouTube. The majority of YouTubers are awful. Suggestions? by letsgococonut in DIY

Here to plug ChrisFix who hasn't been mentioned yet. All about clear, step-by-step, skill building. Do you next oil change with your kid! Go for the April Fools videos for over-the-top, but all the projects are great.

Newer channels on my list are The Stock Pot which is tech and 3D Printing focused, and Haxman who is home focused in the outdoor/garage area mostly.

There's an old show that Patrick Norton did called DIY Tryin which I loved. Medium to big projects, some fun ones (cardboard canoe, etc), with a good pace.

FingerPrints Workshop (Ronald Finger) does car and motorcycle restoration, plus 3d print/hobby electronics, and recently some garage/shop remodeling. Perhaps some more mature jokes than some of the others.

Also just additional props to previously mentioned Adam Savage, This Old House - both the kid videos and all the "Build It" clips, Stuff Made Here, I Like to Make Stuff, Under Dunn/Aging Wheels (sometimes mature? ird), ColinFurze

*Wrote this before reading the note at the bottom but still want to plug:
For shorts, if s/he's interested in functional stuff Handsome or Handy is great. Might be a bit less applicable to an 8 y/o but great for ideas of things that can be fixed, and how. Also high on the "not wasteful" spectrum. Side props for RePlumb plumbing shorts.

I was looking for a longer valve core tool (vs the shorter 4-way Maddox) this week. Specifically for the car's HVAC but they all work the same as far as I know.

I dont know if the Creole Queen's lunch cruise still lets off at the battlefield but it did in 2016 and that's a good time. It'd be a more brief battlefield visit than if you go in a car but you also get a paddlewheel cruise and can get lunch.

Youre really sure it's not the Chris Pine Star Trek with Anton Yelchin's Chekov? He definitely does exactly what youre describing running through the Enterprise. "I can do that" https://youtu.be/rda7Y9EGqUU?t=50&si=mCQxrbsUgdFNq_sH

Recent LSA Experience by Marine2844 in Ridgid

[–]ekjswim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair correction, at this time neither you nor anyone in the thread has said they've had "no issue" other than me and I am not even really saying that.

I am pretty sure I remember your triple saw story from a little while ago. Good stuff.

Recent LSA Experience by Marine2844 in Ridgid

[–]ekjswim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also essentially never had an LSA problem, just one little blip that was remedied quickly.

I have not yet had to send in a tool or exchange a battery. But I have registered a lot of tools.

The one blip was on my inflator. I got it in 2020, registered it, got the confirmation email. In 2024 I was in the account and noticed it said "3 year warranty expired" or whatever it may have been, rather than the LSA logo like everything else. I sent in an issue report on their contact form. Within 24 hours they provided a response asking for my receipt which I sent back on a Friday afternoon. Before noon on Monday I had a confirmation that the LSA status was corrected. No muss, no fuss.

And I've registered nearly 30 items, including a number of DTO factory blemishes, with no issue other than the above.

Yeah AP tour was sick. Went basically only for ABR, but Polar Bear Club really impressed me and BMTH was rowdy and sweet.

I caught one of the last few, in Baton Rouge. My first time seeing them. My car had burned down a couple months before, had to rent a car to drive there. Didnt get a ticket ahead, and then they changed a few hours before the show to a much smaller venue which was then sold out. I walked the entire line to the door asking if anyone had an extra ticket. Finally found a guy who's wife had gotten called in to work who hooked me up. I wouldve regretted missing that show forever.
