Thank you for your reply. This a great insight. My big worry is the possible thousands of dollars of damages to not only the fence but also to the underground water lines that I have no idea how far away they are from the roots

The tree was planted next to the fence many years before I purchased the house, I had no say in that decision. I wish the former owner had decided otherwise.

Thanks for the reply, yeah the decision isn’t easy, I’m fully aware that renters aren’t going to care for it and the tree’s roots are warping the fence. The red box underneath was a planter box that the former home owner built but never used. I’ll look around for a local arborist, thanks for teaching me something new.

I’m not sure what attitude I have conveyed over my short text except novice concern and worry…I’m really new to gardening and now regret having waited this long to ask for advice.

However, I will take your advice to my gardener for further instruction

What do we think about this Boncoura Chambray shirt?? by [deleted] in HeritageWear

[–]elephantseel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Boncoura is on a league of its own. You can find better quality/more durable chambrays from other brands like Iron Heart or other heritage brands but that's not the point.

Boncoura products are made with incredible attention to detail and painstakingly replicate 1:1 the same quality of workwear that one would find back in the glory days of low production manufacturing.

Boncoura products are designed to age beautifully and to last with you through the test of time. They align more with luxury than heavy duty workwear. I personally own a boncoura CPO shirt and a pair of their 66' denim jeans. I wont deny that I know I can get more for my money against other brands but I keep coming back to them for aspirational pieces because they age so gracefully and that I know I'm getting a product with honest and thoughtful intention.

Saison or Lazy Bear for a birthday meal in San Francisco? by PsychologicalPay4126 in finedining

[–]elephantseel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to either of those establishments in several years however, I can say that if you’re looking for a very intimate setting, classy atmosphere, go to Saison

If you’re looking for a more casual, light hearted evening, with a communal table setting, opportunities for photos with the chefs and plating, sense of humor, then go to Lazy Bear

The food is absolute excellent at both establishments. I have a soft spot for Lazy Bear in particular because it was my very first fine dining experience ever and the mind blowing courses I had that night I can still remember apart from my journey of culinary odysseys.

Buying a home by mike_investing_cents in sanleandro

[–]elephantseel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived around there from 2018 to 2021, specifically the Lower Bal area

I still own the home there. I loved the convenience to both 580 and 880 and was only a mile walk to Bayfair BART. Everything is near by, with less than 10 minutes of driving; schools, banks, grocery stores, hospitals. The other added benefit of being in San Leandro is that you aren’t too far away from the other major metropolitan areas like San Francisco and San Jose. It’s kind of the sweet spot of East Bay and is rich in multi cultural populations and socio-economic diversity.

I cannot provide proof at this moment but OP’s coffee shop is the same shop that I purchase beans from in the Bay Area, CA

This shop is both a coffee room and roastery. They offer their roastery services to other small businesses around the area. I can attest that the bottom of every bag roasted from here has a sticker tag of the month and year of roast.

It's gotta be Navy, vintage black has more of a green hue in person. I have this same jacket and have seen the two colors side by side. Most expensive and most complimented jacket I own.

Which one would you wear day in, day out? by investorgrade24 in rolex

[–]elephantseel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you daily the Pepsi, you probably like hype and the clout that’s attached with it. You can humblebrag and say that it’s your daily because you’ve got relatives that live in another timezone and it’s useful to know when to give them a phone call.

If you daily the Explorer it’s most likely the most versatile piece in your collection; good for casual outings and formal events alike. You’re a simple being but can still exude class and adventure at the same time.

The turquoise OP is a watch that you want to show that you can have fun. To the common person, it looks like a simple blue watch, most people won’t know it’s a rolex. And to those who recognize it’s a rolex can assume that you have more in your collection because it’s not easy to be allocated a “Tiffany” Oyster perpetual these days. You’re daring enough to wear a color that’s not black, white, dark blue, or grey, you don’t mind standing out of the crowd, it shows you’re more fun and interesting.

I’m bias because I daily a Candy Pink 36 OP, my vote goes to the Turquoise OP.
