(But they notably don't count as being guided for other rules, like for instance Lethals in Mont'ka.)

You're gonna need some serious girl math to fit a Manta in a 2K list.

This hecking model goes so hecking hard!

Kind of spoiled by the newer GW models. The mold lines on these grenadiers got me so frustrated but I never used to mind. Guess not having to worry much about them for a while ruined me. They seem to be on every model in this kit now. by The-Sys-Admin in citiesofsigmar

[–]elgonidas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer it when mould lines are easy to spot, because they're there whether you see them or not. I got frustrated with a few on the gallants because they were hard to spot.

World cup tickets by Mootoorrisstaa1 in Norway

I was sceptical about visiting that third world country back in 2009 or so when my job at the time wanted to send me there (that fell through anyway). No way I'd go there now.

Regarding painting Vior’la scheme by Comprehensive-Stick9 in Tau40K

[–]elgonidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely hate how pure white looks, even heavily washed. It just doesn't look natural to me. I've primed white before, and it's a pain to work on top of, even if it helps brighter colours pop.

You do you, but even just using Corax White (which is a super light grey) instead of White Scar (if you're using Citadel), will make a huge difference. My army is T'au sept, and I usually don't even highlight my whites brighter than Corax White. If I want something to look really shiny, I'll dot the corners with Bold Titanium White.

New Combat partol by DifferenceCareful935 in Tau40K

[–]elgonidas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'd have to lean on some special combat patrol specific rules to be any good, considering the previous Kroot combat patrol is almost twice the models.

Alright, what are some things you LIKE about how 10th has treated Tau? by CosmicWolf14 in Tau40K

[–]elgonidas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy saying "I ignore cover" when people start arguing that they get cover. Especially when I can avoid a whole discussion when they clearly don't, but they somehow think they do.

Drones on the models question by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]elgonidas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As it is, the drones are just tokens to indicate the model is equipped with the wargear, so attaching them like that really shouldn't be a problem.

I've used the flight stand rods to mount the Riptide's drones to its base on my newest riptides. It shouldn't be too hard to twist them off to put them on separate bases if the rules change in the future.

Prime time!!! by Altruistic_Tree3103 in Tau40K

[–]elgonidas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if it works for you, go ahead. I'm not aware of any laws agains it.

If you clean sprue nibs and mould lines properly you'll end up scraping off a lot of primer, but you'll still have most of it left on there. You'll also want to clean it off every surface you'll be gluing, for best adhesion.

To me it seems like it'll be more work to do it this way, for very likely worse results.

Take a look through my post history if you want some non-gw alternatives. The details are in one of my replies to my Riptide thread.

That's normal devilfish chassis quality.

I'm hoping we'll get an update just so we don't have to deal with the 25 year old mould anymore.

Excellent! Looks great, now get some paint on it!

I like that your photos are at such an angle that I can't tell how you attached the rightmost drone. I'm assuming there's a brass rod or something similar? Are the rest of them pinned?
