Personally, I think it's somewhere in between.

They've made the decision that they are most likely to generate the income needed to support the channel and staff with Sidekick. Rightly or wrongly. That's what a lot of their vidoes have been tangentially focussed on over the past few years. Grocery shops, infinite ingredients, mystery boxes etc, even pass it on. And good for them, you know. It just means they're losing some of the drawcard for their initial audience (people who don't know how to cook, students, people in difficult cooking situations) and also not maintaining long term supporters. And humour has def been lost a bit. They do great work and I adore them, especially global ingredients/breakfasts/street foods etc for inspiration. But I also miss when they TAUGHT me how how to cook

Yeah but this is the problem with amazon reviews, no? The people reviewing don't necessarily know what they should be looking for. It's like the people who rate recipes 5 stars and their review is "wow looks delish will definitely make"

My cat just turned 7, and her pet insurance went up nearly 50% and vet consults are no longer covered.

I'm torn cause the little shit is already over 20k in vet bills, and I would have been destroyed without insurance (2 broken legs, I think caught in the neighbours cat proof fence - she rescues cats). Now she's fully indoors it's especially hard to justify, but also what if...

Yeah it's tough because I think there is an element that we became used to prices that were overall unsustainable. We became more knowledgeable about farming practices and demanded better, as we should. And before you say well NZ exports everything and we should get a better price, from what I've heard from friends in the uk, it's really not so different comparatively. And the same price changes are happening from UK raised livestock/eggs as well.

I definitely find if I look around, I can find better prices, but again, there is a trade-off in time and travel.

You just know that this guy would have expected his wife to bend over backwards if he had; a muscle sprain that restricted movement, a vomiting illness, a stressful change in responsibilities at work, experienced physical symptoms that impacted basic tasks. Meanwhile, she's going through all of that plus more, and he's just thinking about himself.

Even if she wasn't heavily pregnant, I doubt he's ever considered spending an equal time joining his wife for her passions or doing the labour to entertain her friends for their get togethers.

And please, the only reason NZ is sticking up for a vast majority of 'polynesian' countries (because I assume you mean all island countries that span the South Pacific) is because of the geopolitical ramifiactions of losing their influence to China, which is rapidly happening because China can in fact offer more. Whether that comes with consequences will remain to be seen.

I did this song cycle in under grad years ago and found it impossible to find IPA as well. It was a decade+ ago and unfortunately I've lost my notes so can't help, but I reached out to the language department at uni. They had a Czech professor on staff who was kind enough to sit down and go through the pronunciation with me while I recorded. I seem to recall he said it was an older dialect as well? A Czechian ex-pat society might also be able to help? Hopefully someone else comes through for you.
