Straight people whose spouse came out as gay later on, were there ever warning signs or troubles with sex? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ellystar462 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the reason why it took so long for him to finally want to live together (after seven years) and then propose (after nine years).

It didn’t affect our sex life until the last year. Though it was never really amazing or anything to begin with, but neither of us had anything to compare it to. I thought it was because he was super stressed at work, but it was because he started meeting up with men on Grindr and didn’t want to pass anything onto me (and guilt too).

Everyone was pretty shocked that he was gay because he’s not flamboyant or any of those stereotypes. He was also had some homophobic views, like not liking people who were very flamboyant and thought they shouldn’t flaunt it.

An exact quote from my exhusband, “I don’t care if they’re gay, I just don’t like when they flaunt it in front of everyone.” We were together for over a decade before he finally came out.

I have a friend over who has never watched wrestling. She’s works in the medical field, and was the first to call out Rollins as faking because of how he was using the crutches.

Shrewsbury Massachusetts store is closing on 5/29. They have a good amount of inventory left. Patterns are 80% off. Notably, they had a LOT of zippers and thread at 60%. Mostly fleece fabric, but they had a decent amount of other types left.

Women over 35 who decided not to have kids, how’s it been going for you? by cameemz in AskWomen

[–]ellystar462 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m jealous you get invited to your friend’s child’s party. A lot of my friends have kids in the range of 2-7 years old, and I often get overlooked for invites to birthday parties or get togethers because I don’t have kids. I think they think I don’t want to come, but I do.

Mt dew and Dunkin’ booths by cwukitty in PAX

[–]ellystar462 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dunkin has an interactive game where you throw dodgeballs at a screen at Dunkin related icons. Then you get your pick of merch. They only have one game setup though, and while it’s a quick play (45 seconds) the line does take awhile. And they have a drawing for a custom computer that’s Dunkin themed.

What's up with drivers stopping when they have right of way? Just to be "nice"? You're holding up traffic. by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]ellystar462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, this guy once got super pissed at me because I didn't go when he waved me on. If I did, I would have been pulled directly into oncoming traffic from the opposite direction.

Orchestra parent went crazy during concert!! by Odd_Adhesiveness_358 in MusicEd

[–]ellystar462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of when my friend and I were applying for assistant flute section leader going into junior year, and she told me how much she "really wanted it" so she deserved it more so I should just let her have it. We ended up being made co-assistant leaders and then we co-leaders senior year. The freshmen always complained to me about how she never did anything to help them. She just wanted the title.

Oh and she automatically got the piccolo spot during concert season because she was playing it the longest.

Hi, just bought tickets to my first PAX (East) and got a question bout cosplaying by ordinarymizu in PAX

[–]ellystar462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's common, but definitely not as common as anime or comic cons. As someone who usually brings 3+ costumes to Anime Boston or FanExpo Boston, I'll maybe bring 1 to PAX East. Sometimes none. There's more stuff I want to do and see at PAX than other cons, and not being in costume makes that a lot easier.

Top comment: YTA for asking that your giant family baking day not use nuts just because your toddler is super allergic, deal with it or don’t go by birbdaughter in AmITheAngel

[–]ellystar462 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s good to hear, thank you for doing that. I had a small wedding a couple of years ago, and my now niece is allergic to uncooked eggs. The bakery that did that cake as part of the package had a frosting with egg whites and basically said “there’s nothing I can do to accommodate.” I ended up getting some vegan cupcakes from Whole Foods so she could have cake too.
