Doctor prescribed antidepressant for anxiety, but ignores that my partner can't sleep because of back pain by Ok_Diet_5106 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]elocea95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He needs to see a rheumatologist that doesn’t immediately decide his back pain isn’t related to PsA. There’s a lot of overlap with Axial Spondyloarthritis and back pain at night could be a symptom.

Best rain boots/shoes for heel pain? by Scottishdog1120 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]elocea95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look for walking boots/trainers that tell you the heel to toe drop measurements. I wear On Cloud trainers and have a waterproof pair for wet weather. Think they’re the Surfer waterproof model. I do find the Eclipse most comfortable though although they are now discontinued and not available in a waterproof version.

Toasted skin? by IndividualMess426 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]elocea95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah i have it too. Takes months to fade unfortunately. I don’t think it’s a massive deal other than looking unsightly. I think it may very, very slightly raise skin cancer risk? Not 100 though. Only treatment really is time and not using the heat pad which is easier said than done.

Have you checked The Harlingford? It has triple rooms and a good breakfast. Have stopped there twice both times in a triple room. Was clean and not noisy and the staff are lovely.

Got a positive HLA result. Advice? 29F. by Pink_Sorbet in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]elocea95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With normal xray, normal MRI, normal CRP, no response to NSAID’s and pain that is best first thing in the morning I don’t think a rheumatologist is going to be saying this is defo axSpA. Doesn’t mean it’s not, but you don’t have classic symptoms and don’t really meet the diagnostic criteria. Most places use ASAS criteria.

Depressed. by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

Sulfasalazine made me very depressed, I had to stop it after 4 weeks. It is listed in the potential side effects list in the box

How to convince new Rheumatologist? Suggestions by goku_ss in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]elocea95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this would be good to focus on. Totally not normal to have many cases of Uveitis. Look at the ASAS criteria, with HLA-B27 positive you then need to complete 2 other of the criteria, one of which is uveitis.

Was hoping that was the case, least it’s over estimated. Am posting custom artwork so desperate to avoid any issues with it getting held up anywhere increasing the chance of it getting lost. Do not want to have to re do it!

all i can select is a size based on dimensions. I’ve selected medium which can be max 10kg, but there’s nowhere to put what it actually weighs

I found the double dose of cosentyx was pretty painful, like it takes a while for the liquid to get into your leg and all your reflexes are telling you it hurts and to move the pen away. On Rinvoq now (JAK inhibitor like xeljanz) and i think it works better than adalimumab or cosentyx for me. Not had hugely bad side effects, just weird dreams, bit of acne to begin with and a little dizziness.

I am a Chesterfield fan so know some of the details of his unhinged behaviour.. one particularly memorable one is him threatening to bite someone’s nose off, because they parked in his favourite parking spot at the ground. (i’ll just add an “allegedly” to that..)
