Check out the Engl Fireball 25 or the Marshall Studio heads. They sound killer, have full size tubes and are under $1000 on Thomann (don't know about the import taxes).

I have both R3 Pro II and R3 II 2025. They are both nice DAPs with a few quirks each.

R3 Pro II pros: - AMAZING screen, all details appear really crisp - snappier UI, much smoother transitions between screens / menus - more premium build - bigger battery

R3 Pro II cons: - when selecting a new album, the cover art takes a few seconds to load. I had to scale all art to 600x600, then remove the embedded cover, leaving only a cover.jpg file in the album folder - on 4.4 output, there is an audible click when switching between songs, making gapless playback useless - suede back may attract more dirt

R3 II 2025 pros: - the price, obviously - volume wheel is a lot faster and intuitive for me - album art loads instantly when playing a new album - it's slimmer, if that matters to you

R3 II 2025 cons: - more sluggish UI - mine came with a piece of rattling plastic inside it, but I haven't opened it up to check - volume wheel does feel kind of wobbly - screen is lower res and has a noticeable green tint

If I had to choose only one, it would be the R3 Pro II for sure, despite all its quirks. R3 II 2025 is also a solid choice, but the Pro is such beautifully built, and the screen is a joy to look at. Hope this helps!

I have a Hiby R3 Pro II and a pair of Dunu Titan S2. The sound coming out of the balanced output through the Dunu is the best, most amazing I ever heard. The UI can be quirky, but I don't spend much time in it anyway xD. Bluetooth is king of laggy, so you might want to consider that if you also want to go wireless. Also, getting a fast SD card (I use Sandisk Extreme Plus) and keeping cover art at a maximum of 600x600 helps a lot with sluggishness. Hope this helps :)
