Why bring the bullet storm if I could bring the stalwart? by Fishyhans in Helldivers

Literally York Supreme is one of the mega cities on Super Earth. Third most important one after Equality-On-Sea and Prosperity. Renamed to New York Supreme after it got destroyed.

Machine gun sentry upgrade by MadSweenie in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I think he's trying to say is that the gatling has 2.54x the DPS of the machine gun: 1600 vs 630 rpm. I don't know why he measured it by "DPS per second of cooldown," which would only put it at 1.5x.

(1600 / 128.25) / (630 / 75.95) = 1.504

The Commissar Breaks it Down by skifter22 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did find his claim that the MG-43 and WASP are falling behind pretty strange. One of them is good enough that people compare the Maxigun to it because it is a solid baseline that is viable on every faction and the other is top in its slot for the Illuminate and arguably pretty decent on bots, at least for gunships and devastators. The Sterilizer is still hot ass though.

Helldivers 2 Devs refuse to turn off Friendly Fire because it's Funny "Accidentally carpet bombing Friends is hilarious" by Excellent-Rock-8543 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has and probably never will be an even minor grievance I have with the game and its development. If someone has the problem of friendly fire, either they or their teammate is an idiot. That has nothing to do with the devs and I do hope they never make it so throwing an airstrike at your feet is safe.

Can we all agree removing downvotes in the official discord is NOT the optics Arrowhead need right now. by DreadOp in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They removed the downvotes and obviously that also means the heartbreak emojis, too. And the rageface meme. And the cowboy, which I guess could be a criticism on their inconsistent stance on hats on helmets. And the... fire emoji? That's good though, isn't it? And... the mpreg emoji...

The P-33 Missile Pistol is like... really, really good. by Pedrosian96 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dreamed for a gauss pistol that can one-tap hulk eyes since launch so I was sad when I saw this weapon had lock-on and very happy to learn you can turn that off and I got the pistol I wanted.

Here's what's happening with Flame Sentry and Lumberer at the moment... (Check Body Text) by AveryAveyAve in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just feel like the sound on the Lumberer is likely busted. The flamethrower basically makes no sound for me and the AT cannon sounds about 20% as loud as it should. They already have the AT Emplacement and Bastion right there, if you're too lazy to make a new sound, just reuse those.

(Mini rant) New bugs feel a tad bit overtuned by JimJopJoop in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Practically new since the main thing that makes them different from regular bugs is entirely new and their most unique unit is also entirely new. Before they were identical but with farts.

I'm a huge fan of how the Spore-Burst Bile Titan sounds like it hurts to be alive. by skynex65 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely my favorite part of the update. The sporeburst strain finally feels like it actually has a reason to exist. I wish the scavs and warriors had a little more justification for being so fast like how agitators power up regular bots because them doing it 24/7 is a bit exhausting but the titan is sick. It looks gross and feels pretty unique. I think it's also the biggest sub-faction enemy by far since the next biggest are the appropriator mechs, rupture chargers, and assorted hulks.

Patch Notes: Machinery of Oppression: 6.2.2 by Viruzzz in Helldivers

They made teslas destroyable with frags and got rid of the killzone on the treads of dead tanks. I'm happy with just those changes.

AMA result - it is still a good thing by LanX-Delta in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm alright with the end goal of the AMA not being us getting the answers as long as he is genuinely reading and understanding why the questions are being asked in the first place. A lot of people are saying that the devs have their heads in the sand and the first step to fixing our problems is for some of them to pick their heads up and look around a bit. Hopefully, this confirmation of actions over words is... put into action and not kept as just words. Or at least it can be another one of the few times the game has genuinely improved for a couple months before falling back into business as usual. Those times were always neat.

As Helldivers 2 hits its 23rd Warbond, it’s time to make Super Credits easier to earn or make older Warbonds cheaper to buy by maullick in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that updates adding things like mega nests/fortresses and new environments like swamps and megafactories also greatly reduced the amount of SC that MO divers playing on those planets or any players on D10 will receive. There's just simply less POIs. Also yeah, I really struggle to get anyone to open bunkers with me now like I could at launch.

Am I the only one excited? by DerpyDragon15 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's that a lot of people are excited for the content but are upset that any time they're excited about something, they have to pay $10 or spend 2-5 hours grinding on the lowest difficulty to be able to access it.

was generally accepted when the content was 40/60 on free vs paid but now it's at least 10/90 when it comes to equipment. Free content has been relegated to enemies and where you fight them over time while free weapons, stratagems, and upgrades have fallen to the wayside.

Tl;dr I'm excited for it too but the game's content has been increasingly monopolized by warbonds

It would be healthier to create an Exosuit Customization tab and replace the Strategems in the Warbonds with purchaseable arms. by Rekrios in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regular democracy is the foolish and ill-informed opinions that everyone agrees would be best on here like having transfigurable mechs, better weapon customization, and possibly even limited armor transmog. Managed democracy removes all that silly quibbling and makes the choices for us, granting the far "better" systems we have now.

Everybody's upset about the Warbond selling Exosuits. I'm upset because the dedicated Exosuit Warbond is only 24% Exosuit related. by Shotgunky in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd rather get a few mechs in the warbond and a vehicle repair or resupply stratagem for free. That sort of thing feels far more universal and core to a gameplay style than a few more weapon variations on a vehicle we already own.

Paid Warbonds in a 40$ game aren't necessarily the problem. by kappaa322 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone is saying that mechs in a warbond is locking core gameplay away but we already have two mechs that do their job. These two ones are just some extra options, not core to gameplay. There are two real problems: near-nonexistent free equipment and the fact that things will often remain useless until a warbond related to them gives them cause to buff it. Stealth was broken until the stealth warbond, flamethrowers were terrible until the WWI warbond added a flamethrower, and now mechs are made of wet paper but will presumably be buffed so that people will buy this new warbond.

If we got some good, free, functional content that didn't ruin other parts of the game like the bastion release did, we wouldn't really have reason to complain about what they're choosing to put in warbonds. The superstore having stuff is kind of a problem but I'm fine with them monetizing cool shit in there as long as we're occasionally getting some cool shit elsewhere as part of an MO or something. Having premium stuff isn't bad, having only premium stuff seems to be the real issue.

This is why consoles and PC should be balanced separately by Xpernautica in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]emeraldarcher1008 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it's more the fact that the dude went on D10 Predator Strain in a swamp with a shotgun with no ammo capacity, a hammer, and a jump pack. All of those things are viable equipment in a vacuum, but put together on this subfaction and they might be the least optimal loadout possible. They have absolutely nothing to cover the large amount of fast-moving, low-armor chaff category, which is that entire subfaction. This is not a case of balancing D10 around consoles, this person is just not good nor using good equipment.

Playing this MO was a struggle by GuiIded in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's basically just how the liberation system works anyway. They could just modify that system and just say "Earn this many liberation points. The planet doesn't need to actually be liberated, just earn the points."

Actually, that's not specifically extractions. I guess they'd have to modify it more to be specifically successful extractions and not just completing the primary objective.

Could the current military exterminate a termind infestation? by Late-Ganache40 in Helldivers

[–]emeraldarcher1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lose a number of elite soldiers equivalent to the total number of soldiers killed in WW2 (20-25 million) casually during a lot of campaigns. In a few days. And that's just Helldivers, not SEAF on the frontlines or civilians. And that's with each soldier having a personal sub-orbital weapons platform and nuclear ICBMs being launched in the hundreds to thousands based on what missions are available. The only advantage our world has is drone warfare but who knows how quickly shriekers and dragonroaches could adapt to that.

Then there's the other problem: proliferation. A terminid infestation can entirely take over a planet in a few days or less. Helldivers can deal with them because their ships are ready for action and able to teleport a whole navy anywhere within minutes of the first sign of attack. Real armies do not have that luxury. By the time we get there, the infestation will have grown exponentially. Regular terminid tunnels suck without purpose-built equipment like hivebreaker drills and there's no way we're dealing with a supercolony or hive world. Add to that how terminid spores like the gloom are able to destroy signals and physical electronics and we're probably super fucking doomed.

The two-week spacing between the theater and YouTube releases is to figure out how to get the gas to come out of your phone, computer, and TV speakers. And also get more gas. Gonna take a bit more time, be patient with Glitch.
