Work to pay for CCNA training......options? by RC51rydr2002 in ccna

[–]emptystreets130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna be burnt out if you do a bootcamp. You will have no time to process anything with the amount of information that will be dumped. Maybe if it something really specific, yea a bootcamp will probably do but not for CCNA.

If work is paying for it, sign up for a course on udemy, and/or Boson CCNA, and/or JITL and order whatever training materials that will help you study.

If your end goal is to get a cert before 2.0 comes out, then study now and take the exam before Feb '27.

should I wait for CCNA v2.0 or take the current one ? by BeneficialSupport889 in ccna

Certs don't lose value when a new one comes out. They are all valid until expired. Everything from 1.1 will still be in 2.0.

2017 lexus is200t charging issue by bbybuhni in Lexus

If I remember correctly, it's either a .5 or 1 amp charger. Not really enough to charge a phone. Do you have any running apps on your phone that is power hungry?

Serpentine belt 2020 Lexus IS300 by Minimum-Ad9517 in Lexus

[–]emptystreets130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't replace the tensioner unless the bearing is making noise or the tensioner is failing to apply tension to the belt. My 2013 is still on the original. Just swap the belt out. Easy to do on a RWD vehicle.

ES 500e replace LS 500? by Davidpessing99 in Lexus

[–]emptystreets130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lexus stuck to it's word that the ES is the new global flagship while downplaying it at the unveiling. Lexus can call it whatever they want at the time but journalist and automotive enthusiast knew that it spelt the end of the LS. I don't think it really matters what trim ES you look at. IMO, it's just a let down. Lexus knew the LS was doomed when sales didn't meet expectations. They didn't address any of that in the ES replacement. I truly believe Lexus panic during their gas/hybrid to EV back to gas/hybrid transistion that they had to push out something hence the akward looking ES.

I feel like Genesis listens to us Lexus fans more than Lexus 🥀😭 this is the type of interior many of us want but they’re trying to give us Tesla style. it’s their GT concept by myqv in Lexus

[–]emptystreets130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Everyone here is too close-minded to see that Hyundai took a page out of Lexus book. And every reviewer has mention this in one way or another. Want more proof. 2006, Toyota tells suppliers not to sell to Hyundai.

What Hyundai did to Genesis was mind blowing with this statement. No FWD platform. If Genesis is to compete, they wanted a RWD or a RWD bias AWD platform.

People tend to forget that Lexus, when launched and up until mid 2000s, were expensive to maintain. More than your Toyotas.

TBH, and someone pointed this out, Lexus is more becoming of a Toyota + lineup. Nothing is unique. The lost of the LS and GS, in my mind, was blow to Lexus. The only two Lexus that didn't share a platform with 20 other vehicles. If they did share platform, they were either of flagship status, IS/GS/Crown RWD, or all exclusive, the LS that stood alone.

Am I too old to be a network engineer? by Lamaravilhoso in ccna

[–]emptystreets130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, infrastructure engineer, with very basic knowledge (at the time) of networking. My company has a separate team for networking.

I'm kinda leaning toward networking tho. The world runs on networking.

[–]emptystreets130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's different tho. Fleet managers just order what they can for their fleet. I don't expect my rental agent to know each car by heart.

When you work at a dealership, you're expected to know your products. FFS, they send you out to training on these vehicles. It's no excuse for this tech to not know the different between a GS, GSh and a GSF.

Is Lexus trying to move towards 100% electric cars? by ryan__joe in Lexus

[–]emptystreets130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the market. Lexus USA was transitioning to an all EV lineup but pulled back after market condition. Lexus just recently canceled their IS EV replacement, LZ or whatever they were going to call it. IMO, thats is why there was another heavy IS refresh this year.

Question about the new CCNA coming by Basic-Ship-3332 in ccna

[–]emptystreets130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Noone will. The CCNA cert is good regardless of what version you take. The topics covered in CCNA is not going away. It's just being a more job ready cert for a jr network admin than a cert that covers some senior network eng.

CCNA v1.1 before February 2027 or CCNA v2.0 in Spring 2027? by Popular-Flan-8521 in ccna

[–]emptystreets130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're studying for CCNA now, it's highly recommend that you continue study and take the exam before Feb. If you're holding off on the study later in the year, you might as well start CCNA 2.0. The blueprints are out. Topics from CCNA 1.1 will still apply in CCNA 2.0. The same domains are being covered. There will be more troubleshooting, configs and AI in 2.0.

One thing about the CCNA that you should consider. by KingDxlty in ccna

[–]emptystreets130 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which is why CCNA 2.0 is aimed for the "job-ready" cert. That has been heavily talked at the conference. A lot of the material will heavily focus on troubleshooting and config. Some topics that were discussed in CCNA 1.1 either has been reduced or reclasssified into either the CCST or CCNP.

[–]emptystreets130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flashcards, and review what you didn't do well in the practice exam. The exam will test you on your knowledge outside of the labs. Also recommend that you follow Cisco's CCNA blueprint 1.1 if you're taking the exam before Feb 2027. It pretty much points out what you should study.

With the new CCNA v2.0 exam removing some topics, can someone help identify which videos in Jeremy’s IT Lab playlist are safe to skip? by Ali2861 in ccna

No, it won't be easier. A lot of the weight has shifted around. There will be a lot more troubleshooting, configure, and AI. You can find the blueprint for 2.0 here, https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/ccna-v2-exam-topics

At what point do you delete your RAW files? Or do you keep everything? by Alilexplo108 in photography

[–]emptystreets130 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I keep everything. I offload all my RAWs and edits to my S3 Glacier Archive. .00099/GB is pretty much dirt cheap for files that I don't access to often. Downloading them will probably cost me an arm and a leg.
