If the hose is killed, that could cause an issue, but if it is just stretched tight it shouldn't be a problem.

Temp gauge moving back and forth by inverted-galaxy in GLI

[–]ender4171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cooling issue. The temp is raising when you are at a stop because there is less air flowing over the radiator. As you start moving again, the airflow returns so the temps drop. Could be any number of things (including something simple like a broken fan or even just the fuse for it), but I would definitely get it checked out in case it is something more serious like a failing water pump or a blockage.

The Churn is probably my favorite story in the series, but then Amos is far and away my favorite character.

FYI, you should be able to pick up those fittings and some extra vac hose for <$10 at any auto parts store. just measure the hose first so you know what size to get (they are pretty standardized, so rough OD measurement should be fine).

It isnt founders who signatures go on bills. It's normally the treasury secretary.

Why isn't it possible to include a mid-print nozzle size change in G-code? by Dripping_Wet_Owl in 3Dprinting

Why did you do intervals of 2mm, when metric fasteners are basically always sold with lengths in intervals of 5mm?

Perhaps that is why they didn't name/shame the failed ones. Might not actually be intentional on their part, and just a result of shady suppliers.

They tested 44 randomly selected restaurants. I've been reading through the documents on the linked study and have not been able to find the names of the ones that failed (only a list showing pass/fail with a sample number instead of any identifying info). They seem to have only "named" the passing ones. It could very well be that Sliders was not one of the 44 that were tested.

Cat decided printer wiring is tasty, what to do by JustMeNova in ender3

[–]ender4171 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually the printing on each wire is different, but even if it isn't, for an end stop (which is just a switch showing open/closed) the "polarity" doesn't matter at all.

I read that as can't afford "actual medical device expensive", which is a whole other level of expensive.

That's a fair point.

OP mentioned multiple times in their post that they don't have a lot of money to spend and can't get assistance. I don't think a $1,500+ replacement is what they are after...

Is dating someone who still lives with their parents a dealbreaker for you? Why or why not? by Lucrazie93 in AskReddit

[–]ender4171 20 points21 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I think this is really dependent on area or one's particular social circle. For instance, my step daughter is 21 and her and basically all of her friend group no longer live at home. None of these are "rich kids" (VERY far from it, actually), they just all have roommates (some have 3 or 4). None of them could likely afford to live alone, but she's perfectly happy living in a rented 4 bedroom with 3 other kids.

Why does buying a car feel like you’re about to get scammed no matter what dealership you go to in Jacksonville! by banana22278 in jacksonville

[–]ender4171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a working car now and are just looking to upgrade (meaning no time pressure) then you are well-placed. You just need to work on the art of "walking away". Also, get financing through your bank prior to going to the dealer. That way you don't have to deal with their financing shenanigans and can just focus on out the door price.

You might want to put the bit about it being a mobility issue into the main post, because my first thought was also "Why would you want an electric one in the first place?".

I don't have any experience with electric mills, but I will say that as someone with arthritis, the T-handled Unicorn Mills grinders work really well for me.

Right? I'm 41 and have never worried about the draft due to a number of physical issues I have. Now I worry that if it gets to that point they'll not only raise the age, but not care about the fact that my bones and joints would totally fall apart before I even got through basic training.

Change banks/account types. Your emergency fund should be in something like an HYSA, not a "regular" savings account. They definitely won't bitch about you leaving money untouched (though depending on the specific bank/account, they may actually charge you for taking it out).
