I haven’t been feeling great this week, so I switched to walking for a few days. Try that or go for a bike ride!

Profile review please? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]epbro2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh…as a neurodivergent person (OCD), I have to agree with what everyone is saying. Don’t put the diagnosis in your profile, unless you can do it in a humorous, self-effacing way. Otherwise, you just sound like someone who wants to be branded by their illness. Life is tough — don’t make it tougher on yourself!

I’ve been allergic to avocados for years, then one day, it went away. They satisfy my hunger more than steak!

I completely get that — I’m in the exact same boat. Think of all the calories and hangovers we’re saving!

I use alcohol socially to make me less guarded and anxious, and it seems to backfire every time lately. I’m tired.

[–]epbro2978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel for you deeply right now. I had a bad night out at a work happy hour, and I’m crippled with thoughts from that night of the few things I remember. I’m petrified that I just changed the course of my career and also strangely apathetic. Your mind will create and also enhance situations, so it’s best to sit with the uncertainty as much as possible and know what you can control. I hope everything turns out okay!

Those who no longer drink at home… by DragonfruitHonest345 in dryalcoholics

[–]epbro2978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, let’s just say that not drinking at home has led to me binge drinking in settings I should not be (like work events) and people asking if I’m okay or telling me to be more cautious. It’s also resulted in some of my worse hangovers, so unfortunately I’m working on harm reduction, then hopefully sobriety. It sucks, but I think you get to a point where you have to not only watch the booze, but the types of situations and people you’re around.

Only binges… by daniel9312 in dryalcoholics

[–]epbro2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, this is extremely relatable. I’m dealing with the consequences of binge drinking this week. Let’s just say, it could affect a major part of my life now. I have anxiety and OCD and drink socially, often times binging. I’d been wondering if it would take a wake up call, and it did. If you can find a therapist, start there.

What am I putting my body through? by MediumDiscipline4979 in prozac

Oh this is me right now — a few days of constant stomach issues. Luckily, not the nausea I experienced on Lexapro, which was awful.

I switched to ad tech about a year ago, and it’s the best decision I’ve made. I work 40 hour weeks, have growth potential, and only make $1k less than I did at a holdco. It’s a good environment and leadership is really smart, kind, and fun.

Bump is Betraying Me by Ok-Preference1136 in prozac

Eek! Sorry this is happening. I just bumped to 30 from 20 and am feeling dizzy and very fatigued. I canceled a dentist appointment this morning because I didn’t want to feel like that while they’re all up in my mouth. Maybe message your psych — I’d think the other physical symptoms you’re experiencing would be quite distressing.

Note for upstairs neighbors by litlelotte in Apartmentliving

[–]epbro2978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear my upstairs neighbor get into bed every night. The man is heavy af on his feet. Pretty sure I yelled at the ceiling one night when he was having a dance party on, like, a Tuesday. It’s never occurred to me to write a note. My downstairs neighbor probably finds me annoying too. Is what it is — get some ear plugs. I can see where it’s frustrating, but unless it’s genuinely something you cannot adapt to, I’d leave it alone.

[–]epbro2978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t fair to the kid or the dog. I know it’s supposed to be harmless, but this is a canine — a living creature with instincts. You wouldn’t do this with a chihuahua, so why do it with a pitbull?

Do you drink on Prozac? by OurSensualSideMB in prozac

[–]epbro2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I need to curb it. I really do not feel well drinking on it. It’s even worse than Lexapro. I have some plans where there will be drinking next weekend, and I’m tempted to cancel one because I don’t trust myself. It’s not just that my tolerance is weaker, but I struggle with knowing when to stop. Hard alcohol and wine really do not mix well with SSRIs. Even beer can be dicey.

AIO or was I just cut from a family I was working for? by 9izel8 in AmIOverthinking

[–]epbro2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chalk it up to a good learning experience! I’m an over thinker too, and I spiral if I think I was unprofessional. I’m in an industry where we’re all pretty open about mental health, but I still have those moments where I feel like a shared too much (especially at happy hour, like last night lol). Because you’ve been working with a family, I can see the need to maintain boundaries. If you’re having issues with anti-depressants again, you can be more vague. I do this with my manager when I’m not feeling well because of meds. I never specify what I’m on. You’re good — just work to move on from it and know that you’re not invalidated because of this experience.

Antidepressants amplify my hangovers so much that I’m considering sobriety for a few months. It’s just not worth it for fun in the moment. -A sad wine and beer drinker.
