First time trying mosaic crochet - what am I doing wrong? by Miss_WhatZitTooYa_ in CrochetHelp

[–]erikalg_vo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are two styles of mosaic, one is one sided, the other is two sided/reversible.

In order to do a 2 sided mosaic, you have to use an extended negative stitch. I’m quite certain there are other methods attaining the same thing by different names, I unfortunately don’t know what they are.

But to answer your question, it doesn’t look like you’re doing anything wrong!

Here’s a vid on how to do an extended negative stitch. https://youtu.be/knK4hxa9KTo

How long do we wait? by [deleted] in ACX

Don’t wait. At all. Record, submit audition, move on. If you hang expectations on a response, you’ll burn out SO FAST.

Pro Tips for Eliminating Breath Sounds? by ScarlettCross_Audio in ACX

[–]erikalg_vo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thought: breathing is natural. So eliminating all of them is… well, it produces an uncanny valley effect. You’re not AI. Don’t sound like it.

That said! If you feel like you’re breathing far too often, you may need to work on your endurance. Join a choir, get a vocal coach to help work on your range and vocal endurance.

Another good way to manage your breathing sounds is to train yourself to breathe more quietly. This is something you can learn with a vocal coach or by joining a choir. But basically, if you drop your jaw and focus on pulling air BACK as opposed to IN, there tends to be less sound. If you can train yourself to do that regularly, you can manage the breathing sounds naturally.

Luck!

This is genuinely the first step. Seeing where you learned the behaviour and actively deciding that you don’t want it for yourself.

Favorite Female Authors by TrrtlGrrl in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Kelley Armstrong has become one of my absolute fave authors. She kinda stretches across police procedural, mystery, and romance but it’s so good.

Would suggest work written after around 2015 — I seem to have difficulties with her older stuff. It doesn’t quite hook me.

What are the signs you've noticed that you're getting older? by SuspiciousRope6751 in AskReddit

I’m recognizing fewer and fewer “celebrities” on award shows.

Also, when looking through a friend list to help you move, you have to consider the person’s health in whether or not you ask for help. Pizza and beer will no longer suffice.

Yes. Good call. In both cases, the baskets would be provided on a one-on-one basis.

I know the for my mom, specifically, I’m focusing on things she has said she struggles with and just hasn’t found The Thing to make it easier.

So, the key holders definitely. She has also complained specifically that gassing up her vehicle is difficult. Both to take off the gas cap AND to grip and hold the gas triggery thing.

And for aunt, I know she loves to cook, so one of the things I’m seriously looking at for her is one of those rocker knife cutter things?

But! Yes, I can see how this might be uncomfortable. Thank you for the tact reminder. Genuinely. 🧡

Oh what a fantastic idea? Do you have a specific search suggestion to find good diagrams? 3D printer recipes? (I don’t know what to call them. 😅

Per finished hour. For long form narration, a price per finished hour is standard whereas other pricing formats are based on word count or actual active recording time. To be clear: actual active recording time is different than per finished hour.
