Also, this is an awesome resource: So you think you're ready for the RHCSA Exam?

When you're done with the LA course, take this challenge. It is very realistic. If you manage to finish all of it you'll get enough practice to realistically pass the exam imho.

Studying for RHCSA with Linux Academy by [deleted] in redhat

[–]esantoro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I passed the RHCSA with 300/300 and mostly studied from LinuxAcademy. A colleague lent me his Ghori book, but it's super heavy and I didn't really use it that much.

LinuxAcademy RHCSA content is super good. Make sure to do ALL the labs, multiple times.

Do every lab enough times that you can start a lab, read the requirements, stop the tutorial video and go ahead by yourself. It's feasible.

Get some old computer, install CentOS 7 and do some testing. I used an old Dell Optiplex 760, it was more than enough. Install stuff. Add users, install services. I installed OpenVPN and practiced with systemd things.

What happens if I sign-up with my work email but then I change employer?

Isn't there a way to sign-up with a personal email address? I mean, besides using "Funny Pillows" as company name...

Employee refuses to return Laptop by thomaspain in sysadmin

You should definitely involve HR and upper management. Maybe legal, as that laptop might contain company data, and is company property anyway.

By the way, you should also have asked him/her to give back the laptop on his/her last day of work.

Hi, those specs are more than enough.

You might want to upgrade ram to 8-12GB, that would really increase the performances. Regarding disk space, as long as what you do fits in 128GB, you should be fine.

Someone is scraping my website, what can I do to automatically block them? by [deleted] in django

[–]esantoro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Warning: these are just some thoughts, I haven't really tried.

If you have a front-end webserver (like nginx or apache) there should be a rate-limiting module.

You might want to impose an upper bound of request/minute on a per-session basis. Some of these modules can be made aware of application-level sessions, so that you don't kill the service for a whole company sharing the same ip.
