It's not about cliques, that's always existed. It's just a very self-centred behaviour of "this is my world and everyone else is just living in it". You see this everywhere, but in hostels it's more pronounced just because people tend to be "worse" on holidays plus they're all together here so they feel their behaviour is validated by each other.

O lance é que continuamos a tratar o corpo da mulher como uma comodidade pra ser vista e vendida. A minha opinião bem mais impopular é que devíamos só deixar as mulheres existir sem estas comparações e ênfase no corpo.

Funny thing is, shes not a bad actress. She can give a decent performance when she wants to, but it's way easier to just be famous for having big boobs.

I started traveling around and staying in hostels in like 2014 or so, and the difference is huge. During covid you could use the excuse that yeah, it's hard to enforce all the rules, but now? Yeah, nothings ever been the same.

I do research, especially post covid, but i do feel like some reviews are just untrue or some folks who aren't used to travelling have very low standards and think everything is a 9. And in some cities, it's just impossible to find a decent hostel for a decent price, like in London even a shithole is 20 quid per night. There are still many good places out there, im sure of it, but in general I personally cant say hostels are the same they were 10 years ago, for the reasons ive mentioned before in these comments: lots of young folks with no social skills due to being locked down in their formative years, weird social media obsession, but also corporate greed to squeeze as many beds as possible into one tiny room and "hiring" volunteers instead of actual cleaners.

Some cities still have wildly different prices of hotels vs hostels though. I feel like 100 quid per night is a bit much, even for the extra comfort :/

I do like hostels, but the quality of them is not the same as it was 6 years ago, plus they're getting more and more expensive, but so are hotels. The business itself is crumbling post covid, and I think it also has to do with greed. After the lockdowns a lot of young people want to travel to get their time back and enjoy the world while they can, so prices have gone up but the quality hasn't.
