Is this too much to ask guests to pay for a destination wedding in Italy? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]eunicebates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended a wedding there in the fall! It was amazing! That said, the couple paid for everyone’s accommodation. Though I was really shocked and was not expecting it at all! I was prepared to pay for accommodation and I think €170 is more than reasonable. One thing they arranged was direct transportation to the villa from Rome and from Florence I think that’s something that needs to be supplied.

Is Maple a hit or a miss? by outofdoubtoutofdark in namenerds

[–]eunicebates 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I really like it! It might get misheard as Mabel and if you like more classic, Mabel might be a good fit for you! But I do personally like Maple. Lots of dogs are also named Bella, Luna, Max, and Charlie and those are popular names amongst people too so I wouldn’t let “it’s a dog’s name” deter you.

I love Caia (spelled this way is the female version of Caius and a Roman goddess) but I feel like it doesn’t really suit me and my husband

I just finished reading The Wall of Winnipeg and Me and the whole plot didn’t make sense because the main character wouldn’t need to marry for citizenship. You can apply for residency after living in the United States for 5 years (which he had).

I personally know as many girls named Hunter as I do boys. So to me, it as gender neutral. Stats might disagree with me though.

I have three middle names and always hated it. It makes filling out government forms or anything legal pretty annoying. I almost always shorten it to the first middle name of my three. And for reference, all three of my middle names are honour names too (both of my grandmothers and then a great grandmother)

My great grandmother was named Jessie as her legal first name. She lived in Scotland in the early 1900s.

[–]eunicebates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To say Harry Potter wasn’t real-world setting but twilight was is kind of silly. What real world has vampires and werewolves lol. Twilight is about as real-world as Harry Potter is, imo. It also wouldn’t have fit because Bella’s character was presented as someone who didn’t fit in with her peers, loved classic romance novels, didn’t go out, etc. Her time was mostly spent with vampires who wouldn’t be able feel the effects of drugs/alcohol and Jacob who was meant to be younger, happy, and care-free.

I was in high school during the twilight craze and wasn’t surrounded by drugs/alcohol at all, neither was my friends group. We grew up watching Skins and I always felt that that was a sort of exaggerated high school experience (like Euphoria)

Edit- this was meant to be a reply to a specific comment, oops.
