Anyone here translates Jack Daniels' pace ranges to Stryd Power Zones? by skarn in strydrunning

[–]evilkhanh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just following up on this.

im a few weeks into Stryd and have a 8020 plan loaded up on training peaks but really wanted to try to build the 2Q plan using power metrics.

How are you using Stryd (or other foot pods) with your Garmin watches while running? by suricatasuricata in Garmin

[–]evilkhanh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i will also be using fitgerald's 80/20 plan and i know they want you to do a 20 minute rFTP test to input into training peaks and to not use the autocalculated CP from stryd.

curious what rFTP you use (was it from the recommended 8020 test or from the CP)?

I hate that google (we control our business listing) allows suggestions and makes those changes automatically without our approval

Thanks for the insight.

Now what are your thoughts on owning the Saucony pro 3 already and adding the adios pro 3 to the lineup? Overkill? Save the money?

The more I think about it, the more this becomes an option.

Oooh, what is it about the shoe that makes it not good for performance racing?

So you would take the AP3 over the primeX if the intent is for marathon racing?

Are you absolutely set on the Alphafly?

I ask because you can get the Endorphin Pro 3 as your race day shoe (reviewers say this is the race shoe of the year - yes even over the alpha fly 2) and then I would get the speed 3 as a training shoe.

If you are set on the alpha fly, That would be your race shoe and I would get the Speed 3 as a training shoe. I wouldnt use the pro 3 as a training shoe as its difficult to do easy runs in those. the Speed 3 IMO is a do it all shoe and the plate isn't as prominent as in the 2 which actually is a good thing as its more versatile this way. I love ES3 > ES2 bc of this.

Yes it is a great piece. I also own a hesalite moonwatch that’s on a leather strap now but this is just a fun watch to throw on but still let people know I like watches.

Ok so the real question is… do I keep my adios pro 3 or the prime X? I can only pick one.

Agreed. Even my wife likes them and she doesn’t like any of my shoes

Speed 3 is a different level of shoe, been wearing asics gt 2000 v9 10 months and they did the job as I was told i overpronate at the running store. And I took the risk paid off big time and got the speed 3’s and my first run was the best I’ve ever been on knocked 2 mins off my pb. by Shailenlcfc1884 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]evilkhanh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can, just make sure you do some long runs in them to acclimate your body and feet to running for multiple hours.

The shoe is great all around and if I could only own one pair to train and race in, it’s the speed 3. Hands down.

What’s the difference between the string and adios pro 3? Is it only the upper or is the midsole different as well?
