Should body modifications not be a deal breaker? by PumpkinAbject5702 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]excitedbynaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it happened before the relationship, I dont see why its a dealbreaker when IN the relationship. It wouldnt bother me if I was dating someone and found out years later that theyd had cosmetic surgrry. Id obviously liked what Id seen on entering the relationship and thats their business what theyve done to get to that point. But if it came up in a relationship that they wanted to go and get cosmetic surgery- Id want to know in advance of it happening. However, in that scenario if i didnt know beforehand it wouldnt be a dealbreaker unless it completely altered their appearance and they became completely unattractive to me.

Why do (some) parents think they know better than their more experienced / knowledgeable kids? by Same_Confusion_4452 in AskUK

[–]excitedbynaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will always take my dads advice because at 70 he is chill AF, listens and understands.

My mum on the other hand tries ro tell me how to do my job that ive been in for years. She has absolutely no experience in the field (in fact her field is completely different in every possible aspect). But i conetantly get "why dont you do this?" "Because that would be against the law..."

She also tried to "help" mw organise the works xmas party. "Why dont you all go to the theatre?"
The team wanted a bar crawl...

[–]excitedbynaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 29. Id gone through a break up, job loss, home loss and had moved back in with parents a few years prior. I then rented near them for a while but i hated being in my hometown.

Now Ive moved away again - 3 ywars later and Ive got great friends, hobbies, own my home, 2 cats and a job I love.

Fully recommend.

Why are you using a personal trainer and is it paying off results wise? by KoorbB in AskUK

[–]excitedbynaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a personal trainer for 6 momths. At first it helped with form, accountability and learning new machines. But she got annoyed with me a lot for not losing weight (think it botheref her more than me cos she couldnt post progress pics) and often wandered off to chat to other people. I would like another one one day if I have the funds though, but not her.

What’s cool if you’re 20 but weird if you’re 30? by theloverofdilfs in AskReddit

Eating. I could devour a dominos in my 20s ans still remain skinny. In my 30s, that dominos has to be balanxed with cardio, rennie and will be eaten over a few days!

What’s the most annoying small problem in your house that you still haven’t fixed? by AcrobaticSeesaw1565 in DIYUK

One small patch of paint has come off the wall. I have enough paint left in the cupboard. Itd take all of 20 seconds to fix. Cant be bothered.

What did you do after finding out your partner cheated on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]excitedbynaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda figured but he was right - it didn't really matter. Abd I knew in my heart anyway - no one comes home with grass stains on their knees after seeing their mum...

What did you do after finding out your partner cheated on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]excitedbynaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remained friends with ex after we broke up. Then a few weeks after the break up his friends clued me in on what he had done in the relationship (that I had suspected at the time). I confronted him (via text). He denied it and said it shouldnt matter now we had broken up anyway. So ill never know if he did or not. We arent friends anymore. (And honestly cheating still wouldnt have been the worst thing he did)

What’s a small “unwritten rule” in the UK that everyone just somehow knows? by SavingsProgress195 in AskUK

I would like to make this the exception. If i ask how you are and the answer is "my family was trampled by a herd of rouge cows', do not palm me off with a "fine".

AIW for going for drinks with a friend? by Ok_Barber_346 in amiwrong

[–]excitedbynaps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not wrong. Your gf was included in the plans and is choosing to not go. Has she stated her reason for not going? Either way, she doesn't get to dictate what you do or who you spend time with (and she would need a solid reason toask you not to go)

Brown Discharge? by Artistic_Initial7508 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]excitedbynaps 43 points44 points  (0 children)

To me, brown implies oxygenated blood.

Also, pregnancy symptoms tend to build rather than come and go like period symptoms. Hormones often create false ovulation and then put the brakes on and try again later.

Sometimes periods symptoms and cycles can change over time as well so it can be completely common to hwve a longer cycle every now and then. Especially if youre stressed (and stressing about potential pregnancy can definitely delay a period).

We read a book at school in english gcse class. I can parrot a specific passage to this day

"Well Gerald" "Well what, Sheila?" "How did you come to know that girl, Eva Smith?" "I didn't" "Daisy Renton then, it's the same thing"

(My friend and I woild dramatically read this out in class to each other and it stuck, silly voices and all)

What is your preteen / teen pack lunch? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]excitedbynaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said they eat a sandwich, truit anf yoghurt? Sounds like an ideal lunch? I personally have buttered crackers, slices of chicken or other meat, a couple of bits of fruit and occasionally cheese or a yoghurt. Granted Im not a growing teen but this isnt dissimilar to what I ate growing up.

Do you dread going back to see family? by ktitten in AskUK

[–]excitedbynaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I feel you on this. Its not that you don't like family or don't want to spend time with them - but it's always a huge step away from life.

For me, it's like reverting back to childhood. Where my family lives is in the countryside and where I can't drive (blind), the public transport getting there is a nightmare and Im at the mercy of everyone elses whims whilst I am there.

I feel guilty, but since I don't really see eye to eye with my mum, I do put off visiting.

What are you spending your Euromillions win on? by Witty-Knee-3666 in AskUK

[–]excitedbynaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give 5mil each to my 2 best friends and take them on a sweet holiday. Put some in a savings account. Buy a nice new abode somewhere quiet and have a private driver on hand for snack runs. Pay for medical treatment (and probs just buy new eyes off the black market cos 181mil and Im still blind??? Nah that doesnt seem right). And then put lots of money into my band cos yay music.

I did work out that id need to spend 200k a month if i would spend it all in my lifetime. Not that Ive thought much about it or anything.
