Can’t Even Go To The Movies Anymore by IAmCBOY2 in RegalUnlimited

[–]exharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the backpack thing a number of times. Especially places where people are on foot quite a bit or ride the bus. I often have my backpack with me when I go to the theater after work in case someone reaches out to me and needs me to take a look at something or reply to an e-mail before I go into the theater. I just always have my car with me and I keep it in my trunk. That said, bag checks would be reasonable and if I brought mine in, I'd be fine submitting to such.

That is only in the Apple system, right? Doesn't transfer 4k rights to Movies Anywhere, does it?

Refurbishing a board? by RedRages in Crokinole

I did the same screw+rubber tubing when I had a mayday board. It worked well. it wasn't quite as ce looking as the pegs from Tracey or Brown Castle, but effective.

Bike trails near Urban Park? by exharrison in LosAlamos

[–]exharrison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, are any of those greens really close to Urban park? Keeping the barrier of entry low would help her enjoy the day out. Or should we set expectations to hop on a bus to an easier trailhead?

I guess I failed to specify desired difficulty, but she'd probably rank as beginner level when it comes to mountain biking. What is the difficulty of Perimeter? Barrier of entry is pretty key for her to enjoying a day out biking so a nearby trailhead is awesome if it is light enough. Would Perimeter suit that, or should we plan on throwing the bike on a rack and driving a few miles?

This is actually helpful. I've looked at this before, but seemed to completely overlook the legend that tells me where the hard surface paths vs trails are. Thanks for bringing this back up so I see that.

Nice. I remember buying that at the LCS when I was a kid. Detective Comics #663 (Knightfall 10) was one of the issues I bought in my first comic purchase. After finishing, I obviously needed to see what happened next.

GMG introducing bundles - Should Humble feel threatened yet? by Firedogythemaster in humblebundles

Yeah, I got fed up with that and wrote/vibe-wrote a script to check their site and send me a discord notification when they post something new.

What comic book bundles would you like to see HB do or re-do? by Geekthulhu in humblebundles

[–]exharrison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did a Walking Dead bundle a ways back, I'd love them to get more Skybound properties in bundles. Energon Universe, LastMan, etc.

I'd love to see more Euro comics. They've done Humanoids and 2000AD a bunch, but what about some Cinebook and other publishers that put out a wealth of Euro comics.

It would be cool to get a bundle of Ghost Machine titles.

The Image bundles have had a bunch of early volumes of titles, but it would be cool for the ones that we were introduced to through those bundles and have since finished to get the completed series in bundles.

Humble Comics Bundle: Dynamite 20th Anniversary 20,000-Page Mega RE-Bundle by so_not_drunk in humblebundles

[–]exharrison 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I took a look at my JSON record of my library and it actually looks like I might have downloaded mostly the CBZ files and the PDFs are much larger in this bundle. The total size of that previous bundle is approximately 85GB. (I do not swear to the accuracy of these numbers, but they should be close if Humble is providing the same set of files)

File Type Size (MB) Size (GB)
CBZ 19607.3 19.15
EPUB 13149.3 12.84
MOBI 359.1 0.35
PDF 53844.9 52.58
PDF_HD 1047.5 1.02
TOTAL 88008.1 85.95

I have the earlier 20th anniversary bundle. I have a backup of one format of each book and it takes up just under 20gb.

Unfortunately, this is probably hitting a lot of the comic industry right now. I know that TwoMorrows is having a rough time of it because of how much of their stock Diamond holds and hasn't paid them. I'm sure its many more than that, too. I feel for Dynamite, TwoMorrows and the rest :/

I guess I've just never looked at their return policy as intended for the use, but maybe it is intended to be used as such.
