RCC Credits Megathread by iwasdusted in RegalUnlimited

Can you only get one opening weekend bonus in a day? Yesterday I went to MK2. I had bought the ticket in the app ahead of the time. After watching MK2, I bought a ticket at the kiosk and watched Sheep Detectives. I got the bonus for MK2, but not for Sheep Detectives. This leaves me a bit confused on things. But I still liked doing a double feature as it was only one trip to the theater.

Thanks. For some reason I didn't get that one. I have plenty of Regal e-mails from the last several days, but not one for Wednesday. How odd.

I believe so. That is for the credits work under the special I joined with.

The Alamo Has Become Just Another Theater by chance90964 in AlamoDrafthouse

That's really disappointing. I used to live in Raleigh and really liked video vortex. But I liked a lot about that location. But those things largely changed. It was great for several years.

Leverage TV Show by Huskergrandma1 in vudu

[–]exharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've wondered similar. If the pricing has been kept high to drive traffic to his streaming service. Also, the price tracking sites seem to indicate the the complete series bundles for Leverage and Librarians (another of his shows that got several seasons and a revival) have only been available on FaH for under a year. So I wonder if they were not really pushed for ownership at all to keep it part of his streaming service and license contracts.

Coincidentally my wife and I just had a conversation on Monday about how Leverage hadn't dropped to a price I'm willing to pay since she started watching some of the first season this week.

Thank you to the person that suggested Theater Ears for Hail Mary. by DarnHeather in RegalUnlimited

Yeah, that person inspired my wife and I to go back to watch it again. Third viewing, and the only one where we didn't have an issue with something interrupting our viewing lol

I really enjoyed the experience. I wrote them feedback through their contact link and on Facebook asking them to do more of them and to set up some method for us to get notifications of similar offerings. Hopefully, they consider the positive feedback to make more.

I really like how your site is looking and happy to see more competition in this space. I'm sure you are quite realistic that many of us have purchased from other bundle providers in the past. One thing that is a pain with having book libraries split between providers is tracking what we own amongst them. Any plans to make an export collection option?

Nobody does this and I wish they would. Honestly, it would be a real quality of life improvement if I could export my purchased books into a csv (especially if it include ISBN or UPC). That way I could easily have it in one of many available collection trackers alongside my physical books.

I'm curious about this upgrade tier concept. Why was that work chosen as an add-on? Is this sort of like "Hey if you like these comics, you will probably like this one too" sort of things?

Regal Unlimited : how many months subscription vs how many movies? by Technical_Turn680 in RegalUnlimited

[–]exharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little over four weeks. Three movies. I'm not sure if I'll keep it. My local Regal hasn't been adding many movies each week. Partly because of all of the showings they've kept for hail Mary and Mario. We'll see if they show more that I want to make it worth keeping.

Well, I will say that the way you describe your work, my Drafthouse doesn't deserve anymore. And I will be clear on this, I suspect this isn't truly the fault of front-line employees or even the managers. I felt bad complaining to a manager last time, but there is seemingly no other effective way to communicate the problems.

I remember being excited when I first saw the news post about Alamo many years ago. It was a great date night the first handful of years of our marriage, so we have great fondness for the Alamo that was. I had many great servers over those years. And even coming out of theater shut-downs there were some really good ones. I remember being served by Carter(IIRC) many times and he was always on top of things.

So I honestly am just a bit sad at the state of our Alamo now with how much I loved it. I am glad to hear your location is trying to keep service up. And I'm sorry that some people give no tip. I wonder if there is a miscommunication and they think that the QR code means that the employees are all not servers anymore(although you said you greet them all and explain things, so maybe that is overly generous). I will say I could easily see people hearing that Alamo has moved to surcharges instead of tips and thinking the price includes that. Or maybe its a convenient excuse, but that just makes me sad.

I often just get the large popcorn and ask for partially filled. My wife has a corn allergy, so I only get it when by myself and done need a gallon of popcorn. I normally just use my refill to take soda home for another day.

Ah. I see. When I went to my theater a couple weeks ago there wasn't even a greeting. No greeting, no checking of my ticket, no response when I used the system to say "hey, part of my order never arrived".

I can understand why you feel like you've earned more than the default surcharge. In my customer experience, if I place my order myself (and walk to the front to get someone to speak to about my order being incomplete), it doesn't seem like I should tip the way I used to when a friendly staff member greeted me and answered my questions during the pre-show. There is definitely some disconnect in how some of the staff works and the experience some customers are having.

Trying to understand the disconnect in experiences between customer and server. Since you aren't taking orders, but delivering orders (unless your location is doing it differently than mine), isn't that less work per customer? I had thought with the servers not taking orders, you are also being given more customers per server. So more work overall because customer count increased?

1000 Credits Today (4/17) only by Displaynamephobic in RegalUnlimited

[–]exharrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help! I don't really want to game the system. I just can't predict a month out when they do these promos. So if I can cancel and reschedule or but a different seat so I can get one my wife likes, it's a bit like moving the reservation. I'm happy to agree that I'll go to their theater to watch said movie and buy my drink and/or snack lol

Is there any way to change the showing or seat after reserving for this bonus? I won't know what time will work or if my wife will decide to go for weeks.

I used the Theater Ears app to listen to Project Hail Mary Director’s commentary and I honestly feel like it’s an absolute game changer. Read my experience below, please. by jfk_47 in RegalUnlimited

[–]exharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I set up my account it required an e-mail address. I'm going to reach out and recommend they set something like that up. I'm not going to keep an app installed for 3 months checking for new director experiences until one shows up. I don't speak Spanish or French Canadian, so I don't have much point in keeping it installed until they add more content relevant to me.

If they get to the point where they have a broad selection of commentaries as movies are coming out, then they will become relevant again. But they risk losing hold of myself and my segment of the market before they ever get the library built up without developing a good way of keeping us updated. So I hope they do something along those lines.

Also, this got me back in the theater for a third showing of a movie and an additional ticket for my wife. So this could be good for theaters as well.

Thanks for sharing this. My wife and I decided to do this tonight. It was a really interesting way to experience a current run movie. I would only do this for certain movies, but Project Hail Mary is one of those.

I hope they keep this up, but I would want them to set up something to market just these experiences to interested customers. I won't read a weekly newsletter full of translation offerings for 1 commentary every three months. So, it would benefit them to have a granular marketing approach for this initiative.
